Yup, Diesel is scheduled to arrive in Kilkenny at 12:48, the steam at 13:08 and steam (Light engine) start around the loop via north junction first at 13:30

The train will be steam throughout but there will be a diesel loco on hand in Kilkenny to assist with shunting. After being released from the coaches 461 is scheduled to turn on the triangle at Lavistown.

How are they guaranteeing a pre-order price despite a trade price not even being released yet?

I presume they are taking an educated guess and if they get it wrong they will have to sell the pre-orders at a loss

Generally they are on the left in the direction of traffic but they can be on both the left and right in the direction of traffic if a double line is bi-directional.

I have been looking through the drawings and noticed that most of them are on the small side at about 800x600px or there about. I have an drawing of a WT class 2-6-4 that is 5889x3976px (24.3 megabytes). Now that is probably too big. I was just wondering what size would be best size to submit?

Nice find. Interesting the way the brake pipe goes around the outside of the wagon. Makes me think the vacuum brakes were a retrofit.

It also raised another point for me, I have plenty great books for looking up locomotives and coaches but not much on wagons, they just seem to be a small add-on to some books. Locomotives and Rolling stock of Coras Iompair Eireann and Northern Ireland by Oliver Doyle and Stephen Hirsch has some good info regarding running numbers but not much else. Are the any good books for referencing Irish freight stock?

ah found it, they still have 3172 and 3178. 3184 was scrapped and 3177 is at the Strathspey Railway in Scotland.

As far as I remember they got 4, 3184,3177,3172,3178. I remember hearing that 2 were scrapped but I cant remember what numbers they were.

How many are yous all getting?

At the moment I am planing on getting 2, 082 in freight and 085 in IE weathered. Possibly a third from the last batch depending on finances. Wish I could afford them all but such is life.

what does the "SA" stand for??

A stands for air brakes fitted in addition to vacuum brakes

S stands for caws fitted for operating in areas with CTC and train radio.
