A limited edition boxed set to commemorate the forthcoming 40th anniversary of the 071 class would be nice too-071 in original tan livery with a couple of either Cravens or Mk2 coaches in the set.

Congratulations Ilona and Richard.

Best of luck with your channel Dave,
I found both videos very useful and informative.

Just got my copy of Irish Railway Rambler. The book is just full of pictures and some very unusual ones. Where else would you see 019 in 201 livery' date=' 124 in 'Tippex' livery with GREEN Stripes, 'Tippex' vinyl(not paint)stripes been applied to Mk II coaches, Work Shop pictures and a good section on NIR. There are chapters on the different locomotives, coaches and Railcars. This is one book I'll be taking down from the book shelf again and again.[/quote']
Got mine yesterday, and I'm delighted with it,lots of interesting pictures and a few gems thrown in,
Highly recommended-well worth the money.

I'm delighted with this announcement and will look forward to checking out the pre production models at Raheny in October,
My visions of some sound fitted CIE Supertrain,IR and IE liveried 121 locos on Tara Jctn together with my 141/181 fleet will become a reality by next Christmas hopefully,
Well done Mr Murphy.

I am no exibitor' date='never have been and have never been a member of any railway club.I consider myself as a railway modeller, but at exhibitions I am basically Joe public. I can stand and watch small shunting operations for ages, appreciating all that it involves, but I equally enjoy seeing an express belting round a layout. In layman' terms,I generally have time to appreciate the former, while having to fight my way to view the latter. I think nowadays exibitors are interacting more with their audience compared to years ago,as has been pointed out, without them the show would not go on. In relation to the original topic,it is great that some modellers strive to make every aspect of the model prototypical, but somewhere along the line,a compromise will always have to be made[/quote']
Well said and agree with you Andy.

Hi Noel Did your 161 decoder and sound project come from DC Kits (see link below signature)?
That is correct Noel,
I'm currently installing the 201 sound chip into loco 230-as I was impressed with the demonstration given to me at the Warley exhibition.

Thanks lads for your comments,
Thanks also to Irishthump for his excellent advice on CV settings for my 141\181 sound chipped locos-Much appreciated.

It's looking good! A lot has been achieved in a short space of time. I think I see a new bridge at the far end.. Are the buses set to make a return?
Yes Michael-a new bridge has been constructed at the far end-and yes the buses will make a return-they are an important feature of the layout.

Some early morning activity at Tara Jctn,
073 has arrived from Waterford with an empty timber train and is awaiting 0117078 to depart from the up siding with the HOBS train,
29001 has arrived at the new branch platform and will shortly depart back along the newly relaid branch line to Lakeview station,
In the other direction 175 has charge of the branch set comprising of the two Park Royal and one Cravens coach and BR van.
In the foreground 0117080 and 0117076 await their next turn of duty.

I attending this exhibition last weekend and was impressed with the standard and quality layouts that were on show,
There was a large attendance in particular on Sunday where a long queue had formed at the entrance even after the 10:30 opening time,
Lots of traders and bargains to be had..
One of my favourite layouts was"Whiteacre"OO gauge modern image which had lots of interesting operations and held the crowd for most of the day.

Thanks Michael,
There is a good possibility that 216 will be tested on the liner to Ballina before being released to Belmont for its train.
