  1. Yep that's the one, was built about 6 years ago just because I fancied a bit of a shunting yard and station, its designed so a fiddle yard could be put onto either the single branch or the double track mainline.

When the shop was bought 4 years ago it was put in there to give people ideas for layout building and the response to it was one of the reasons for starting buildmyrailway. Took it out a while ago as we needed for space for stock.

People still ask reguarly about it so we currently have plans completed for a 12 x 1 end to end station to countryside working layout for the shop. Hopefully if time allows it will be finished and running by the autumn

  2. ahh back on track now was getting confused there! lol. That will work well, the layout in the pic is 8 x 4 too, the curves to the back sidings will need to be tight to get it to fit but its doable. Other thing you might need to do with the space to have smooth curves is drop the line to the fiddle yard to single track then fan out to 3/4 sidings when it gets round the back

  3. Had a trawl through the iphone, not the greatest pics but gives you an idea

Using plasticard - one I previously did for a client

Using woodland smooth it - currently mid way through this one, will be back on site in July so will take better shots for you then

mark out the area and track with paving tape

not a great angle but gives you the idea, taken before i painted up the concrete area. As I say ill take more shots of this particular one when im next working on it in July.

  4. Wiggy, i use woodland smooth it for all yards and tramways, level crossings etc works great and is very easy and clean to cut when not totally dry. Plasticard also works well but won't be as realistic looking as smooth it.

  5. Two kits are being released in Oct at Dublin. CIE "P" class half cab single deck and also a CIE/Bus Eireann "M" class single deck which was used on Expressway services.

  6. Frank, Jim will have a website up towards the end of the summer with details of forthcoming kits and listings and photos of previous kits. I'll PM you his contact details shortly. As ttc says, the next planned release is October at the MRSI Exhibition in Dublin
