Hope you all like: Again not a General Release. This one took 8 months, All sorts of problems but patience
-
Only problem is...the casting available is only a dual door.....There are no Single Door Versions as models....Dublin Bus & First Scotland are the only operators with Single Doors. These models were specially made for me converted from a dual ........which cost a pretty penny.....But ye know **** the expense!!! The result is worth it

Exclusive Bus Model - Only from Brian Collins Enterprises
GSI345 replied to Brian Collins Enterprises's topic in Bus models
Lovely model Brian. Cannot wait to get my hands on a couple of these........I hope I don't clear ye out hahahaha -
The casting is still available, though from what i hear the chap behind Britbus is not manufacturing Models at the moment for general release. Although models can be produced on a Commission basis similar to what Brian Collins is doing with Corgi. It be nice to see the RV's back on sale ........lots more liveries can be obtained from this casting!!!

well the October Model is already confirmed.....so id say he could very well have the newly updated RA Class then at Cultra.....Iv never been to Cultra so i would never be aware if he did or did not release models at them shows......
-
His next model due for release is the Updated version of the CIE RA Class double Deck Kit. Now, Back in December he said to me it would be released around May time....nothing was mentioned about the Cultra Meeting.......So not sure there.

Well Holy GOD.....Grange Castle...... That is a very impressive collection i must say.....Very Nice......Great Ideas there!!!

it was run of a battery.....a siemens battery, 30 Lithium Ion batteries which can be individually separated & serviced, the Ford Puma 1.9 diesel engine & finally an electric motor driving compressor & hydraulic pump. The bus used the batteries for normal driving, charged by the diesel engine & like similar hybrid car technology also charges from regenerative braking. There is considerable noise reduction due to the smaller diesel engine. In 2006 a request for hybrid vehicles was made to all manufacturers of double deck buses. The Wright Group was the first firm to offer such a vehicle and Dublin Bus agreed to lease a vehicle for a three year trial period. The vehicle will be used by Dublin Bus to evaluate the effectiveness of hybrid vehicles and will be monitored under the headings of: performance, driveability, availability, reliability, maintenance requirements, fuel consumption, emissions, and customer perception.

cityswift i did like.....i must post my Cityswift AV repint also......they were always a lovely livery. I suppose the current colours are ok, perhaps they way they are used could change.....the arrangement perhaps......Maybe using the Current Airlink Livery design & using the current colours .......i dont know.....

doubt we'll see hybrids again. i dont know though....that poor bus has been very unlucky whilst with Dublin Bus. Its been in more accidents minor crashes....ect & then its demise an Electrical fault as outlined in the Main Post. As regard Liveries....i think id prefere if Dublin Bus chose this livery across the fleet giving the more modern look although sticking with the old traditional green..... Aparently im told the yellow in the current livery has some sort of a recognition effect to the visually impared...hence why the Current livery is in existance!!!
