Having now had two parcels now on thier way back to Hatton's , Yesterday I phoned Hattons telling them about this problem,  and they said for some reason they are currently having problems with shipments to Ireland.   It seems to be when using Royalmail - Anpost,  not aware of any issues with DHL, which is the only other shipping option, but expensive at £23.00!!!

Anyway, once Hattons recive the items back I should get an email from them giving me options of refunding or resending the item,  so watch this space and see what happens.

An Post are a joke now! They have stopped for a second time my parcel from Hatton's which they resent having previously been returned as 'supposedly' it did not have the correct customs info. Ordered 20th Feb, Anpost sent back to Hattons, they resent on 8th March and now going to be sent back again! Waste of time trying to contact An Post customer service as they just fob you off with feeble excuses!

  2. Seems like Anpost make the rules up and change them to suit themselves.  With my orders apparently they just got rejected and supposedly being sent back!   All the info I got was 'unable to deliver',   they did not even try or contact me about the packages, instead some idiot in the Anpost Dublin 12 sorting office deciding to send it back.

Where is the logic in sending items back, especially in this day and age of climate change, does not make sense.

With all the brexit stuff now, we all have to get inoculations, passports and masks, and negotiate supply chain issues at the Ha'penny bridge...........

I will have to cross the Shannon as well as the Liffey  if I visit Dublin!!  :)

A few years ago I modified a series of Hornby BR Freightliner FFA and FGA flat wagons and containers - improving the bogies and underframe details and adding new Hunt magnetic couplings.  So far I have modified 15 wagons.

Last week we tried running a 10 wagon formation on the “new” continuous loop on the shed layout.  Even with new metal wheels and brass bearings the train is still draggy such that the magnetic force of the couplers is overcome and they separate - at about half train length.

To solve this I am replacing the Hunt couplings with fixed bar couplings made from black plasticard.

Nothing wrong with the fixed bar.  That's how the real freightliner flats were originally coupled in rakes of five.  Nice work there on them old liners.

I did 'live' in Lincolnshire for a while, that was enough for me...

Could have been worse and been in Luton like me lol.  :)    Lincolnshire's not that bad in comparison, and yes Norfolk is nice.

Modelbahnshoplippe might be better on postage to EU. My last orders from them were 7.90 postage via UPS.

Have used then several times, MSL postage is very reasonable, as Noel says only €7.90postage, and if order is over €100.00 then shipping is only €3.90.

Just had a delivery from them yesterday, and since early this year they use GLS for shipping to Ireland.

No connection with MSL except satisfied customer.

There were a few nice green ones for GW 150….

GWR Green Class 50, 50007 "Sir Edward Elgar"

50007 Hercules was the only class 50 repainted green for the GWR 150 celebrations along with I think either 3 or 4 class 47's.  47484, 47500 and one other I think??

The green livery sat well on the Hoover, but at the time many were not happy about the renaming, especially as there were still many unnamed duff's (47's) at the time.
