Hi All
Here are two shots of items for the layout hot off the work bench....
Handrails for the pedestrian bridge steps are now complete and all is ready to install on the layout

This is the gate into the field to access the beach, it's from an SSM etch with foam-cut stone pier posts- old style, not many about any more!

Eoin,
A first class job. Thanks

Some additional work on developing scenics
The sea shore grows
foothpath through sand dunes
141 sits on ramp to "timber yard". The blue item is a 3D printed IE buffer, placed on track for comparison purposes.
Panoramic view of beach, etc.
The trial 3D printed buffers. [i had only blue "ink"!]
Cliff and bridge separating "timber yard" from storage area.

Progress on Greystones Station scenics proceeds.
The model is very loosely based on Greystones. Obviously, much remains to be done. Wiring has been converted from analogue to digital control.
The master modeler himself does the paintwork. Grassing and greenery are the next tasks.
Beach being prepared for water and sanding.
View to the South, showing road bridge and rock formations.

Fascinating test. Very impressive the way you tested the various radii. Well done.

Fitted a sound decoder to Merlin and lights. Enjoy the videos.
Very convincing sound and splendid model. Love the layout too.

Most impressive.

That N-gauge Dart is an elegant model.

Finally, I have learned how to do a "Share" of a YouTube video. Master Murray was the teacher.
Sorry for the repetition.

Thanks to all for generous response

With the assistance of Eoin Murray, I have commenced a bench-top layout [out and back], loosely based on Greystones Station. This is the only part of the Dart which is an electrified and single track main, hence my interest. The photographs show work in progress.
I am indebted to Dave Lindfield for the construction of the baseboard.
The Dart.
The newly completed baseboard.
Photocopied templates used to determine layout.

You have excelled yourself and this is only the protype stage.

Thanks for the responses. I do not have any fixed ideas as to how the models should be displayed.
I tend to agree that the important models are those Fry himself made [as I would his Churchtown Rd layout, were it still in existence]. The later models are now valuable, too, but the old Fry models should receive initial attention.
The important thing now is to publicise our purpose, collect names of supporters and promote awareness of the very important nature of the Fry Collection.
Then we need answers to each of the following questions:
Where are the models, at what address and who has lawful custody of them?
Why are they not on static display, at the very least?
We then need to constitute ourselves into a formal group, with someone to "lead the charge" [i am too old], having a proper corresspondence address, etc.
We should then meet in delegation the CEO of the organisation have legal custody of the Collection.
The outcome of that meeting will determine what then follows.

As one of the then members of Dublin County Council who voted to accept and maintain the Fry Collection as a public exhibition, and as one who personally knew Fry and visited him at Churchtown, I have long been concerned at the failure of the authorities to honour the word we gave the Frys.
The time has come for positive political action. Are any of your interested? I would propose beginning with Enda, to whom I am well known.
I would hope for a serious response, (Please, no "sore-arserie"!)

Now, if only it was a real sparky pantograph, but still live or not, it adds a real touch to the models.

I have two mehano thalys2 train sets. Literally two train sets with track and controls etc! I would be willing to split one for the bits you require. You might PM me for further discussion.
Regards,
Steve.
Steve, Forgive delay in responding to your reply. The complete middle un-powered bogie is missing, presumable lost. Other than that the set is complete. What do you suggest?

A selection of files showing further work on the model, this time mainly of the "timber yard" where the surface has been raised to track height, using card inlays. As usual the Master did the work.
Two layers of card were used which will now be painted as appropriate to resemble a tarmac area.
General view of yard and station in background
Cutting out the infills
The master at work
Relaxing
The first layer infill is tested for fit
The seashore, with stones marking the tide line
Second layer fitted, with B-T Models forklift trucks. This will now be painted to resemble tarmac.
