  1. The Maplins speaker running free air make's a big difference that's the way I run my sound locos. Try attaching the Maplins speaker to the inside of the roof below the the grill (don't forget to remove the grey plastic covering the underside of the grill) and sealing all the way around it with blue tack or copydex to stop any noise cancellation that makes a big difference. The sound from the top of the speaker fires out through the top grill and the underside of the speaker fires into the loco body but the speaker must have an air tight seal around it.

  2. I wonder if that excuse would work if I was caught at 60mph in a 60kph zone?

Don't worry about it Broithe the Garda don't have any fast cars like the UK and PSNI traffic branch if you have a fast motor you will out run them. :-bd:ROFL:

  3. I bought this in Tesco's the other day a bit pricey at £7:95 but well worth it. Some great reading and full of fantastic pictures. I particularly like the photo of A4 Pacific hauling a full train of empty coal wagons.

  4. Dude, I hate to say it, but you've made a total mess of that kit. There are lumps hanging out in parts where they shouldn't and parts that aren't even close to being near where they should be.

take the thing apart and start again - and I mean this in the most positive spirit - it will help long term.

We all have to start some where but I do agree with Glenderg's comments. I think GSR 800 you have jumped in at the deep end on this one and destroyed it, you should have taken Garfield and Warbonnets advice at the start of this thread and started with several small brass kits and worked your way up to the level required to start this kit. Hopefully you might be able to salvage something from it but I think the damage is already done.

  5. At 38sec you can see the 201 has a different shade of orange (i.e. much more yellow) than the coaches.

Yes that's correct its a good video that for showing the different shades of orange

  6. Thanks Anto, I didn't think the Golden Brown was that dark.

    Lovely work as usual, btw.

Check this video out about 4 min 30 sec it gives you a good idea of the shade of the colour

  8. Anto

Can you stick a MM Mk 2 original beside one of your repaints please?

Like to see them together to see how they compare

Already did Dave check out post number 678. The mk2 1st isn't a repaint just decals added and roof/white lines painted. Will take some more photos tomorrow for you.

  9. Painted on a few white lines, some black paint on the roof, and added some decals to the super train mk2 1st class coach. The colour is an exact match for the existing intercity mk2's
