Yep it's nice but it's HO all the way for me!
I know what you mean but imagine the layout you could squeeze under your bed if it was N scale
-
Nothing wrong with that Jason she looks the part.
-
He likes the yank stuff too, albeit in n scale.
Love his Yank stuff although as you say its n scale

Some rare kits there K any further updates on the finished wagons.

Driving trailer 811, coach 822,823, 824, dining car 547 and 1st 801. Winter set.
Good info there on the numbers. Did these numbers just apply to the maroon and blue era or did they carry on to the grey and blue era.
-
Great tip
-
No they didn't leave the coaches at the platform they shunted them out to the bridge over the river lagan and the GM,s run round them out there and hauled them back into platform 2.
Any idea why they chose to run around the coaches out there instead of in the station
-
Although expensive it does make for a cracking model train with 2 maroon Hunslets topping and tailing a rake of maroon and blue Mk2's
-
I remember working at oxford street bus depot and watching the GM,s pull coaches out onto the bangor line at the River Lagan bridge and running round the coaches there and then going back into platform 2 after the run round.
Agreed but I don't ever remember seeing them leaving the coaches at the platform and running around. I could be wrong.
-
I don't remember them running round at Central. Not to say they didn't do it I just don't remember ever seeing them do it. Did Mk3's ever work the Enterprise?

SD9? The addition of windows along the side really helps too.
Yes SD9. The RTR already has windows in it. I just change the glass for clear instead of the black that comes with the loco.
-
Did you manage to keep the flywheels?
I kept one flywheel
-
That's a little stunner
Thanks Dave

The Sulzer looks good! No doubt the weathering helps. Can you talk us through any other modifications you applied? The buffers is one thing I noticed..... Maybe some shots of the Silverfox and SSM Sulzers side by side...
All I did was make some buffers from plastic card and a little work on the catcher recesses that's it. The only other thing I did was make a chassis and weather it. Everything else is standard RTR. Sorry but I don't have a SSM Sulzer to compare it to. As I said earlier a little bit of work and you can have a good representation of the real loco.

Just stunning! What's 'under the hood' on her Anthony?
Stephen I dumped the standard Silverfox chassis in favor of some American muscel. I hand built a chassis from plastic card and fitted it with Proto 2000 motor running gear and bogies.

Excellent work again Anthony-The embankment scene reminds me of the Tuam-Athenry section of the WRC....
I like your steam heating van attached to your Cravens set-Where did you get it?
Noel its Mousa models brass sides. http://www.mousa.biz/fourmm/coach/sides/CIE/cie_sides4.html

What's your thoughts on the silverfox sulzer? Some have mentioned the cab profile etc. Must say, the Black and Tan suits it well
I don't think any manufacturer has quite nailed the Sulzer. But with a little work you can have a good representation of the real loco.

Here you go lads. Somewhere in the west of Ireland. Enjoy the latest addition to the fleet I got from Chris Dyer last week RTR Silver Fox Sulzer B107
-
Be patient K I picked up a new loco last Sunday from Chris Dyer in Stillorgan. I will do a little video for you over the bank holiday weekend. I think all the old timers (like yourself ) will love the west of Ireland feel of the new edition in the video it will put you in mind of the book Rails Through The West. Stay tuned.

Thanks Guys for your comments. Barl the back backscenes are made by ID you can find them on ebay. I find that using N gauge gives you a better sense of depth. Will post some more videos and pictures soon.
