Thanks folks. Hi David. I just used super glue but the gel type which is a great invention! I would admire anyone who had the skill to solder a brass kit!

A nice looking model indeed!

I'd say an hour each night the last couple of days. Probably 3-4 hours I reckon

Not quite perfect but I am happy enough for a first try. Nice kit. A couple of the side bracket block dooffers to go back on and a quick spray . Oh and I'll need to grab some NEM couplers.

This evening the little anchor points boxes along the sole bar proved fiddly. But I got there. Bogies to do tomorrow!

I am intrigued that the cement bubbles are at 85% . will it be necessary for me to sell some camels sooner than I expected ???

Looks great folks. A grand endeavour and almost there now!

Having a go at a 42' bogie flat from Studio Scale Models/Weshty. May have bitten off more than I can chew but I ll give it a whirl

Curses! Here's me keeping quiet and saving up for 121 s and there's that lovely shot of 071 and now I want a CIE livery 071!!

It was the gypsums for me too for my attempt at Kingscourt but I decided I wouldn't mind the ballast markings, being not the most precise modeller anyways. Perhaps as budget allows I may convert some or order them in that guise if they come available.

that is nice news indeed

Well it definitely makes it harder already to buy from euro suppliers. Just from the exchange rate point of view. Which is really annoying for Belfast living folk as we are devoid of a decent model railway shop.

Hi Weshty have you some 42 flat kits in stock ? I fancy a go.

incredible

Evening all,
As mentioned earlier, 231 made it's first runs post overhaul yesterday (Tuesday) with a special down to Killarney. Whilst I was in college, I was able to get shots of it prior to departure from Heuston. Photos from the past two days also include the unusual appearance of an 071 class in the station stabling sidings (compared to the former Guinness yard) at Heuston. As always, click on any of the photos to view them full size

Hello Dave Wrenneire. . I got a lovely craven from you today at Bangor but I meant to also ask you if you had any 141 s in an IR livery ? Working towards getting one next month maybe
-
hello. I put a digitrax sound chip into an a class and also a 141. I cant remember right now which one but it was a budget preloaded chip that happened to have the same engine as was fitted to the 141 s . (american) the horn obviously is all wrong. I intended to visit Downpatrick on the modellers open day and record some sounds to fix it up, but couldnt go in the end and pretty much forgot about it till i saw this post !!! I just used an adapter lead to feed from the 21 pin. I got a little power drain but never got to the bottom of it.
