  1. Buses from the Catacombs.

    The Stilltime Collection

I found this site whilst searching the Internet. Wonderful photographs of buses from the past in Dublin. Double Deckers including the Daimler "DR" as well a single deck AECs of Class "A". The Garaiste boys will love this site. Hope others view and like it too. This link is not from the start of " Dublin" photographs - I have started it here because this photograph show one of the sic elusive CIE Daimler Double Deckers of Class "DR".

  2. Hi Paddy,

PVA will dry to a gloss, some ballast looks ok and some can be glossy when dry. Using a matt medium over it will dull it down. Drying time is dependant on the environment your layout is in. In my last workshop ballast took up to 2 weeks to dry because it was cold and damp. In my new workshop it only takes a few days. All ballast will go a bit darker when the glue is applied.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions lads. Dave can you suggest the colour/ colours to light the ballast

    Thanks in advance

    Paddy

  3. Hi Guys

I have just done some ballasting on my track. I used a grey ballast and fixed with 50 50 pva after using wet water. However after 48 hrs it look like its wet and a lot darker with a shine on it.

    Any ideas welcome

  6. Hi PJR

If using standard track 14.5 to 14.75mm is what you want. The other options are for fine scale wheels n track, especially item 4 in your list, it will not work on standard track, you have to be using EM fine scale....

    Hope that helps

    Eoin

    Thanks Eoin

  7. Hello all

I'm looking to find out information on Back to Back 00 Gauge and am confused about which one is correct from the following DCC Concepts.

  8. Quotehttp://www.independent.ie/life/travel/travel-news/a380-in-dublin-emirates-postpones-historic-visit-until-further-notice-35561920.html

Emirates has postponed the planned stopover of an A380 in Dublin until further notice.

The decision, which will be hugely disappointing for aviation fans, is due to "operational reasons outside of Emirates' control", the airline says.Emirates had previously confirmed that an A380 "will visit Dublin at the end of March," stirring huge excitement among Irish plane-spotters.

An A380 has never landed at Dublin Airport, leading some to compare the anticipation to that surrounding visits by Concorde in the 1980s.

The Airbus A380, which first entered service in 2007, is the world's largest passenger plane. Emirates is its largest global operator, with 93 A380s currently in service.

This week, Emirates Ireland boss Enda Corneille tweeted that the A380 visit has been "delayed" rather than postponed, with new date a possibility.
