VW Brilliant Orange or Volkswagen Beetle Orange, as any good motor factors would say
-
A bit heavy handed, but buy a Bachmann Mk1 with B4 bogies (comb ebay, usually the regional railways ones had B4's), removed the body, cut the SF vans ends off and slot it onto the bachmann chassis. Will run better and smoother and to scale height. You then also have an open interior. Also add the water tank under the model
-
The sharper the blade the safer it is - requires less effort to cut materials (so your not applying too much pressure and it jumps) and if you do manage to cut yourself it will be a cleaner cut, not gouged and less chance of infection

pics are taken on a Canon 400Digital SLR, other than adding the text marker and reducing the file size for the web upload the photos are as taken and have no manipulation.
Next time set the depth of field higher, put it into AV mode and go as high as you can - eg F22. You will need a tripod but it will be worth it

201-205 210-214 - the non push pull fitted examples
-
Its a 2600 in GNR livery
Sideframes have been tweeked but other than that just a paint job
SF still has a pile of unsellable 105's to shift then!

112 now on display in Marks Models in Dublin (not the one thats on display in Belfast)

Bogball zzzzzzzzzzzz

Not to go of topic but I notice that in the drawing the loco carries the NCC logo did they ever carry this logo while in service
Yes they did - when No4 was preserved the paint was carefully removed to reveal the original NCC markings underneath

Thats really great work Gareth it looks excellent. Is there anything in the Bratchell range that could be used in a conversion as they share some common parts.
Rich,
Asked him about it a few years back, but he was not interested, but no doubt if he did they would be like the rest of his items, nice if expensive.

Here's one
I was on that train, 6400bhp, acceleration to humble an empty DART.........

Ed what has the French or Germans got to do with the MAINLAND UK?
I hope to see you at the Carrickfergus show the week-end.
???????????

Big piece on the BBC 1 O'Clock News on this subject doesn't seem to be going down to well on the mainland
Didnt think the French or the Germans would be too interested in it really
Anyway, Richard Branson is understandably not impressed, but his reasonings make for interesting reading (scroll down a bit) http://www.virgin.com/richard-branson/blog

Fantastic.
Not sure which I prefer, the hair, the uniforms or the peaked caps. Ní bheidh a leithéad arís ann - buíochas le Dia.
Great continuity too - 084 on shed (but was it in the diesel shops rather than the running shed?), 083 backs onto the train, and 076 takes it away.
Thanks for posting, Ciaran,
Alan
Hope everyone noticed that the 071's main headlights were painted orange too, proof again that Mr Murphy researched them well

but 112 is always fairly clean.
Maybe now, but not when IE had it on loan,it was filthy, mostly as it was worked very hard on everything from expresses to beet trains
True but if 209 and 230 were released tomorrow I'd get both. I have been looking for 201 for 8 months now and I can't find it anywhere or for second hand. I am also on the look out for 146, 156 and 184 but I can't find them anywhere so while some stuff is not moving there are other models that are almost impossible to get.The bigger picture is important though, you might want 209 and 230, but there has to be demand for 209, ie you and I might want it, but who else does. Personally Id love to see either 207 or 233 done, same way Id love any of the 111's in their earlier guises, but its been proven that the demand is just not going to be there for them, same way the blue 201's never sold in massive numbers. Im based in the South, but I enjoy modelling NIR stock, but no doubt its the whole 'grass is greener' scenario, so unlikely the demand would be there for any shade of NIR blue, apart from the one that spent a well photographed time running on IE metals and gained LED markerlights, although Id almost confidently say that all 3 111's have been to almost every corner of the Irish network

Maybe if 112 flies off the shelf, we might see some of her sisters in later runs
I think given the amount of 201's still on the shelves, this wont happen sadly. The 141's came along when we all had that little bit more money, not the case now sadly

i dont suppose fort camden came third?
Same layout, different names, also heard someone refer to it as 'Roches Point'
-
Unfortunate there will only be 1 NIR blue model, but not surprising given the slow sales of the Lima blue 201's, paintshop time methinks
-
who won the best layout?
The Lego layout, with Dun Ni Rian in a very distant second place
-
Nice job, they line up widthwise with the cravens, which they should!
-
Hornby do RTR Lowmacs also
-
Do you get bogies and wheels with the kits? What about interiors
