Another 80 picture from the early 90's

I think that for such a small network in such a small country we must be thankful that Paddy did such an excellent job as none of the mainstream companies would have touched it.

Great Model, the only small point is number 88 was wrecked in the early 1980's so sadly never lasted until this paint scheme was introduced. Numbers 94 to 99 would be fine.

But it is a great model and possibly the best 80 I have seen.

First 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley

They were actually classed as SD40M-2's so must correct my flickr pics.

Proto 2000, they were a limited release for the Canadian market.

The fertiliser is class

Couple of pics of some motive power.

It was a bit of a home made idea. Painted on some Pollyscale Grimy Black Acrylic paint and then quickly rubbed the wagon with computer cleaning wipes (70% IPA)until I was happy with the effect. Then added rust with brown artist oil paint and just added dots here and there and then just rubbed them downwards to get streaks. The bogies were painted grimy black and then a small amount of brown acrylic dabbed on to represent rust. I see I forgot to do the wheels on the BC Rail wagon!!

Lovely loco

Thanks to Paddy Murphy that whole story line now looks pure class, as good as any other country. We should be very thankful, come on the 121's

Lovely modelling, I think this is my favourite irish themed layout.

I'm almost certain Paddy Murphy missed that wiper on the model!! For anyone now unhappy with the grey Murphy please forward them to myself!!
