Jaz avalley Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 loads of us weather out railway rolling stock, and show what we have done, I cannot see a weathering vehicles so I’ll start one, anyone with weathered vehicles can feel free to pile in, show off their work, ask about how to etc. People often say do ‘I hate VWs as I often weather them, I love them which is why I have so many.  A good reference picture is always a good place to start, these are UK plates, as I model UK. Oi who threw a brick…lol. This is 1;43 a toy but had nice detail and would look nice on a O gauge layout no box,but likely details ubderneath as being weathered no need for a nice shiny finish in fact just the opposite and no smooth colour either stsrt of the rust nice bum the reference this belonged to my dad who had passed so cutting the door and ripping the headlight wasn’t on the cards, adding sun visors was though scruffing the body work, the bumpers the tyres, I like warhammer and their citadel paints which work for this project birch seeds for leaves messed the windows up on purpose ashiny red layer paint works nicely here in my opinion. 00 is half the scale less detail, and needs finer work, but you need to be careful with the manufacturers these are both supposedly 00 but you cannot out them near each other in the layout! I like plastic headlights not painted one,but sometimes beggars can’t be choosers, and you go with what you can get  1
