leslie10646 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) Two excellent exhibitions in two weeks. First a snip- from Abrail - Market Bosworth (P4). Turn sound OFF for videos - a very noisy place! Station building. Note the lack of the infernal combustion engines. EVERYTHING was correct for 1905-ish (I remember it well). I have never seen a "Lady of the Lake" model in action. No prizes, but why was one of them famous? IMG_4593.MOV The busy yard: IMG_4588 2.MOV And now, Midland Railway meets London North Western ...... IMG_4591.MOV Then this seriously wonderful 7mm layout. Trains came out from a terminal, whirled round the circle a few times and then went back to the terminal; constant changes of trains, shunting continuously and not a single word between the operators - a demonstration of how it's done! IMG_4634.MOV IMG_4632.MOV More tomorrow. MOTD is on! Typical of the English to rob us of the Championship? But they played very well. Enjoy Edited March 14 by leslie10646 4

Weird enough, I'm just after taking delivery of a London North Western meets (London) Midland kit - to build a reboilered Claughton but which has so many bits on the frets that it's very nearly possible to build two engines (one original, one reboilered). Quite a remarkable and ingenious artwork from a man named Dave Basford who seems to have had a go at doing etches for himself a few years ago....and then discovered that there was quite a lot more he could do. Loads more.
leslie10646 Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 (edited) As promised, more from Basingstoke. This is Fairfield Jct, modelled (pretty exactly) on the junction of that name to the West of Westbury. Now this layout had some terrific scenery modelling - look at this lane which could have been in Ireland - I'd never before seen Hawthorn in bloom modelled! Pretty good, eh? Now the actual junction, with (incorrectly, they never run here) a car carrying train! And then sans train. The white patch is the sun coming through a window!!!! And finally, the iconic HST in full GWR Bling tearing along - I do approve of layouts with full size trains! IMG_4763 2.MOV More later..... Edited March 15 by leslie10646 8 1
Tullygrainey Posted March 17 Posted March 17 That is stunning! Totally convincing landscape modelling and a seamless transition into the photographic back scene. Wonderful. 1
