Having gotten an airbrush and paints recently I was about to start painting when I realised that I have no airbrush cleaner. Is specific airbrush cleaner a must or are there at home alternatives? All help and advice with relation to airbrushing much appreciated.

Generally one would use the thinners for the type of paint your using to clean the gun. The best all round thinners for cleaning is cellulose based or 'universal thinners'. Cellulose thinners will remove most paints, even hardened paint.

Do not use sonic cleaners as some may advise- they rattle the gun body and the forged needles apart!!
