enniscorthyman Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 I hope this might be of use to anyone who has the Hornby Deltic chassis that has been cut and shut for a Silverfox 001 class or SSM B101 loco. The main problem when the chassis is lack of traction. The motor is a nice runner even at slow speeds, and is priced nice at 36stl from hattons. However struggles for traction even with a fair amount of weight included. I saw a 001 class on Gerrys Ballybeg and saw considerable improvement when these marklin tires are installed. The bottom of the bogie is opened by using small screw driver to push back tabs either end of bogie, which lifts off showing wheels. Its essential that the wheels are put back as they came off as this will cause a short if put back wrong. I left the original tire on,and I have not been able to test my own a39 as my layout needs some track repairs. The only place I have seen these tires for sale is on ebay. Quote
