Mk I generator van.

Hello actually,

I have just acquired a Lima Mk I Full Brake in GWR livery; it cost the princely sum of €12 on E-bay including shipping. It's in quite excellent nick and I intend to turn it into something approximating a CIE generator van; can anybody be of assistance with regard to which door and window apertures I need to cover up and where, if any, I need to put new ones?

Any varnish at all, except humbrol clear gloss varnish (water based).

Weshty has provided me with decals for same van of late and they're spot on. He'd be the man to ask. In the interest of fairness railtec also supplies - item 5646. R

Yep - some of the primer did come away as the model was handled. I wonder if anybody does overlays in thin plastic as opposed to brass? That'd be far easier to work with. I don't mean those pre-printed vinyl overlays; just ones made from plasticard or similar.

Yes, I have them to offer, but their not public cos i've far too many commitments with the weedspray set, and it takes a phenomenal amount of time to do instructions for any future kits.

But i have the roof detail, side overlays, ssm decals, fuel tanks, and both sides for both bsk and bck variants. Props to wally for making the bck variat happen incidentally.

Pm me if you've an interest in a "blind" kit. Richie

Edit - windows also supllied in a finished or u finished state.

I have finally got around to fitting the mousa sides to a Lima Mk1 , the drawback with the brass overlay is the lack of relief detail so I have added door hinges , door handles and very nice shawplan Mk1 window frames . I also fitted B5 bogies , extended buffers and gangways .
