Hi Folks

Two questions for any of you have have already done this?

  1. How do you remove the lower plastic walkway chassis from a 141/181?
  2. How do you disconnect the power bogies from the main chassis?

Thanks

Noel

I cannot find any more screws or snap fitting clips, but I'm sure they must be there somewhere.

Walkways are glued on so only way to remove them is carefully pull them away and then re-attach with glue.

There are 4 screws accessible from below. They're just above and inboard of the outer wheel sets.

Thanks David. Do you know how to disconnect the powered bogies from the chassis?

You need to remove the square plastic clips from the top of the bogie assemblies. Just carefully lever one side out with a small flat screwdriver being careful not to break it.

You can then lift the drive rods away from the worm gear and the bogie should just drop out.

Bear in mind you will need to remove the pickup wires from the circuit board if you want to remove the bogies completely.
