Noel Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 https://www.rte.ie/news/2017/0927/907774-galway-motorway I hope this is not one of those 'death by a thousand cuts' on the Ennis to Athenry rail link. I hope when our planners are considering the viability of rail links today, that they also plan 30 years down the line when our population could be 10 million and some of these now small commuter towns could grow to become large conurbations needing good public rail services.
Weshty Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 The train times are insanely slow due to the speed restrictions. 2-4 hours for a 60 mile journey. Bus Eireann express currently takes 75 minutes. And with the motorway, you'll do it in little over 50 minutes.
Kinvara-Train Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 we need a ICE-Train in the west:trains: Best Regards from the west Walter
