  1. That's some list there! Irish Freight Models do both types, and HiddenAgenda does some lovely 47'6" flats
  2. Brilliant! I was planning to get the 47' ones if they were used on the IWT, but the 42' ones are a lot more versatile...
  3. Thanks very much for the info! Are the 42'6" wagons rarely used these days then? Where are most of them? Limerick?
  4. Hey guys, just wondering what container flats are used on the Ballina liners? What services were the 47'6" and 42'6" wagons used on? Which should I go for if I'm going for a 2000-2010 sort of feel to a layout?
  5. Yeah, I think there was a Guinness distribution point behind Tesco, a couple of hundred metres up from the main Adelaide freight yard. I remember seeing lorries there, and the trains running past my house in the middle of the night... how things have changed
  6. Again, superb photos!!!! Any of the goods yard itself? I'm raging with myself, I used to go from Belmullet to Galway regularly back then, passing right by Claremorris, but never thought to visit the station, as I thought it would be an average provincial station
  7. "The nurse has also become stuck in the tunnel of goats, and a second nurse is required." Happy Birthday Pat!
  8. Southern Yard, some superb pics! Thanks for all the info lads, and Horsetan, what's your idea?

Hmmm... is the 2nd near Ballasadare?
  10. I'm quite interested in the Guinness Liners that ran up until relatively recently, about 2006 I think (?), because although they didn't stop running until that long ago, there doesn't seem to be that many photos of videos of them. Where did they go to? I know they ran from the sidings in Heuston to North Esk, Adelaide, Claremorris and Waterford. Anywhere else? Does anyone have any photos of the guinness yard in Heuston or Claremorris in particular? Or any information of the running of the liner in general?

Third one's Sligo quay! Is the first one Claremorris?
  12. Thanks guys! Next step is to get 112 chipped and then get the freight yard concreted, ready for the arrival of the container crane!
  13. Yeah, I heard they were building a new deep water port there and that the branch might be reopened. Also heard about potential liners to Cork and Portlaoise, but that probably won't happen I agree with you, always seemed to be more 201s at Ballina than 071s on the IWT liners!
  14. I thought the 201s and 071s recieved equal weighting in freight workings? There always seems to be more 201s than 071s when I go to Ballina, but maybe that's just luck. And was the weight restriction not lifted this year just? Because the first 201 was in Sligo in Ferbruary, and I thought that was to test the refurbishment on the Ballasadare vridge before the weight restriction was lifted? Also, do you have any pictures of the gantry crane in Longford? I have an interest in container cranes, and I could only find one of Longford!
  15. Now that there are no weight restrictions on the Sligo line and 201s can now go there, what are the chances of freight returning there? There are now a lot more locos that can work trains there, and all the facilities are still in place!
  16. Yeah, why not have your own thread and you can ask us what sort of layout you're looking for, as in time period, place, theme etc?
  17. Well not everyone on the forum has the time or space to have their own layout, but you'll find more than enough information on all the layout threads on the forum
  18. Couple more videos. Second one sees the last train of the day arrive, the newly introduced daily boat train from Rosslare, which connects with the ferry from Le Havre! 177 shunts the coaches into the sidings, releasing 220, which goes back to York Road for Christmas day!
  19. Few photos if the generator van more videos soon!
  20. Brilliant! Thanks a lot, both locos separate now!
  21. Yes, both are 3!!!! What do I do now?
  22. Another video of Christmas Eve services. The Galway train was delayed due to a brake fault on the generator van, but finally left over an hour late after it was fixed!
