if you have enough cash to buy a high end large family car then you may have enough to get plain track base and a left and right hand point done

Then again that would be creating its own market for the next 50 years with a decent sized barrier to entry surrounding it. I guess the big unknown is 3D printing and the like.

  2. If a trader has been given an Irish VAT number they will be treated as having imported the item themselves so will be paying the VAT themselves (they will have a deferrment account so no waiting around) which is why they charge you an amount equal to the VAT at point of sale.

Thanks we have a photo from the Derry Journal from September 1970 showing the site being cleared. We are are not able to use that photo as it is poor quality so have ordered a new print from the Derry Journal but delayed by Covid!

Will be interesting to see how cleared it was. I have always associated that memory with 1972 but it could have been 1970.

  4. Wonderful, I really enjoyed reading that.

I seem to recall my father calling it Foyle Street station. Foyle Road was a continuation of Foyle Street so maybe that was the local usage.

There was definitely something of it left in 1972 as I played inside it. Went in through the side entrance and remember bricks strewn around on the floor. At least one of those rounded kiosks near the entrance was still there at that time.
