  9. I wonder if the next lot of MK3s will go direct to Belfast or will they store them in Dundalk for a while?
  10. * Updated - likely a hoax by 2 Irish Rail drivers! Still Mk4s are will continue to become a rare sight. According to a Irish Rail driver on facebook set 5 & 6 of the MK4 will be soon scrapped. As of today 6 of the 8 sets have been moved to Inchicore. Alot of disappointed people including myself for more visit the thread https://www.facebook.com/groups/171953576291342/?fref=ts

  13. More Mk3s are likely to be moved over the next 2 weeks. That's as much information as I know so far. Hopefully word will get out before they run the next time. Either that or its time to go camping next to the line for a month or so I will keep an eye out on the Irish Railways Past and Present group on Facebook. I will post here with more information soon.
  14. Thanks for the reply Warbonnet. I will try and find out if it is going to happen again.
  15. What time was the mk3 set running? I was in Laytown station and must have just missed it Are there any more sets moving in the future that you know of. Would love to get a final video of MK3s.
  16. 29017 in the new livery operating M3 Parkway/Clonsilla shuttles today 19/4/14
  17. They operate on all the lines out of Connolly. To Maynooth, M3 Parkway, Drogheda are the most frequent lines to see them. Most likely to see the new livery on the Drogheda line (its currently in the depot). According to a IE driver on Facebook its ''Still in bits on the inside though, engine and a gen down on her.'' Does anyone know when it due to start passenger service?
  18. A visual of the changes I was mentioning above. 1) a solid dark green to match the new flag logo, also in keeping with the solid grey colour the new 071s 2) a richer yellow colour for the (now smaller) front panel also in keeping with the 071s 3) a black colour disguising the windows like the livery on the 22, 26, 27 and 2800s.
  19. I think it would have looked better with the dark green around the windows changed to black to disguise the glass (like the new 26,27,2800s ICR livery). I would also prefer if the main light green was changed a darker green. I really surprised about the front yellow section, I was expecting the same orange/yellow colour as the Grey 071s - instead we get a normal yellow with black outline which extends to high. So much for a common look. It would have been nice for all passenger services to be 1 shade of green and freight 1 shade of grey with a common yellow section at the front.
  20. 2813/14 had its wheels turned, new livery and logos applied in Inchicore at the beginning of February 2014. The set returned to Limerick on Monday 10 February 2014 passing Stacumny Bridge at 10:30am. [video=youtube;N3qQvQp-h6o]

  22. Dublin based graphic design agency 'Image Now' was the creator of the new logo. Link: http://www.imagenow.ie/work/identity/irish-rail-1.php Surprising as many of the other projects they worked on turned out great eg. Dublin Bus, TV3 and DAA.
  23. Here are two videos from the IRRS Cork trip: 073 + craven set departs Carrigtwohill 071 passes Carrigtwohill light engine
