So the Bangor show is coming up. I wonder might there be any announcements which would have relevance to this thread………

Six MONTHS - many a wan doesn't get this far in six YEARS..............
Brookhall is much smaller but took the guts of three years, so I didn’t want that to happen on this project

Brilliant idea! Nice bit of 'thinking outside the box' that.
You could always give them a light wash with a yellow, to tone down the ice white light to a more old-time yellowish glow
I was thinking it gives me an excuse to buy a box of Quality Street then I will have lots of shades to choose from!!!

Here’s my contribution to this very useful thread! Due to impatience, my current project progressed beyond the stage where it was still straightforward to add lighting to the buildings, so I started thinking of alternatives. I was looking for miniature lights which could be placed individually in rooms and I found a set of 10 tiny key rings on Amazon, for only £7.00:
So I took off the metal key ring parts and using double sided tape, I fixed the torch parts to the underside of the roofs of my buildings:
Yes, it’s not as straightforward (or as professional) as flicking a switch to turn all the lights on and off, but it’s considerably cheaper and does not involve complex wiring! In fact, it doesn’t involve any wiring

Is a few kind members have been asking me about this new method of lighting so I’m going to post it under the ‘Cheap Modelling Materials’ thread! It’s actually a bit embarrassing how much of a cheat this is……..

UTA 0-6-0T no19, ex NCC Y Class, getting a bit of exercise. Let's just pretend that Loughan Quay is an obscure corner of York Road yard.
Magnificent Alan, yet again!

Some more scenic work today - the bank between the bay platform line and the church has been looking quite bare so out came the scatter material and foliage and now it looks a bit different. The secret is to use a subtle variety of shades to make it look as realistic as possible.
Now I have to go to work........

Am sure it will be a high calibre project. Will be making tracks to see it when it’s done.
Yes, it’s definitely bringing me out of my shell.

Clogherhead - A GNR(I) Seaside Terminus
in Irish Model Layouts

One of the first structures I built for this project was a disused tea room, but as the layout developed I realised the the room was a bit too large....... appropriate surgery was undertaken by removing a portion of the building's rear and thankfully the patient has emerged without any lasting damage.
Bedding in and landscaping shall commence in due course.
