That's a nice action that they have, did you remove the spring from the peco point as well? I see you're using the trackbed foam from Woodland Scenics, I've used it in the past to good effect - more stable and durable than cork, with quieter running - how do you find it?

Great videos, watched them over the weekend. I like the detailing on the track work, especially the rust on the rails but no overdone sleepers - what was the method and sequence of weathering you used on these (very much adds to the realism)?

I'm interested to hear what you think about the Cobalt point motors - I was thinking about Tortoise as I can't stand the 'thwak' you get from Peco and Seep motors - what swayed you to go with Cobalt and what's the installation been like?

That is a seriously nice piece of work Anthony - very well captured and not at all 'fake' looking. Did you weather your rails & ballast with airbrush as well - would you PM me with your prices etc?

Oofta! Now that is a cracker - great scratch building etc, where did you get the back-scenes from incidentally?

As Dave mentioned above, the biggest false economy is going with Hornby track (in particular the points), Peco make a very good product if you're not going to scratch build (I neither have the time or the inclination). When I lived in the US I bought all my Peco track from a tiny local model shop although my rolling stock had to come from the UK, so in addition to Hattons you can also look here https://railsofsheffield.com/default.aspx I've found their customer service and speed of shipping exceptionally good in the past - but I would encourage you to whenever possible support your local model shop, times are tough, I saw 'The Train Man' from Portlaois and Dave at the show at the weekend working hard, and it's guys like these along with the Marks Models etc we need to support with our hard earned cash. I'll be wearing the road thin between Castlecomer and Portlaois thin over the coming months. It's a great hobby, changing with the times and so it has something for everyone - I like the technical side, DCC, and the scenic stuff - you can become immersed in your own world while it's gone to heck in reality - escape. Good luck with it, don't get frustrated, ask the questions because everyone will have been there at some point to some degree and the end result is very, very satisfying.

Enjoyed my first visit to the show on Sunday, the baseboards by Model Rail Baseboards looked a quality item, loved the DART models on display. I'm about a 30 minute drive from the club, so may pop along to see what's happening on a Friday night....
