Got a good look at the preproduction samples today, really pleased with how they've turned out. There's a few pics up on our Facebook site if you want to take a look. http://www.facebook.com/modelshopbelfast The samples are currently on their way to Mark and Seamus. Release date for both buildings is scheduled for Feb/March.

As you know modelshopbelfast.com works closely with the other main Irish retailers to produce models suited to railway modellers of the Irish scene. Here are two proposed building for future release. This post is purely to gauge interest. These would be part of Bachmanns excellent scenecraft range. Prices are yet to be confirmed but it's expected both buildings would be in the region of £25-£30 each. If these are models you think would be of interest to you please let us know. We are not asking for a commitment to purchase at this stage just gauging interest in a similar way to the previous IE set and Irish Buildings

Class 111/ 071 with Model Shop Belfast Sound Chips.
modelshopbelfast.com replied to Kirley's topic in Irish Models
Afternoon, just spotting this sorry time contraints mean im not on here as much as I'd like. Give me a phone on 028 9024 0853 from UK or 048 9024 0853 from ROI if you want to double check anything. Don't forget the 0 function is designed to override the other light functions for ease of switching off the marker and headlights so if 0 is off your marker lights and headlights will be off. -

modelshopbelfast.com replied to modelshopbelfast.com's topic in Model Shop Belfast
Similar size space with future expansion options. Public transport has bus stop outside the front door and Adelaide train station is just over 5mins walk so nice and handy, I travel by train myself so ive walked it plenty the last few weeks. Vincent you're just being lazy, its walking distance from your house or one stop on the train -

Just a heads up, we're delighted to announce that modelshopbelfast.com is moving to a new home in Boucher Retail Park, Belfast. We are currently fitting out new premises and plan to be open there in late February. Many people will already be familiar with Boucher Retail Park for those who aren't it offers an excellent range of shops, substantial free parking and regular bus and train services. Location is right next to the M1 with easy access from two junctions. We're looking forward to moving and we'll keep you posted on opening dates, in the meantime spread the word and feel free to share this!

Murphy Models 071 - New, detailed pre-production photos added!
modelshopbelfast.com replied to Admin's topic in Irish Models
Just to clarify. The decoder in the video is the 'almost' finished sample from Mr SoundGuy and modelshopbelfast.com we've still a few sounds to add to complete the decoders but were reckon everyone will love the results. The decoder is an upgraded version of the decoder we have been selling for the last 12 months that was originally for MIR models, as you can see in the video it has been updated to work all light functions internal and external as well as being tuned for optimum running with Murphy models locos. There are quite a number on here who have already seen the loco demo instore and we had 112 with sound running on Old Blarney at Cultra last weekend. For the avoidance of any confusion the decoder in the clip is for a Murphys 071 loco but is nothing to do with Murphy models, it is a joint venture between Mr Soundguy and modelshopbelfast.com only. If all goes to plan the 071/111 decoders should be ready for release next week. There are already a large amount of preorders, these will be supplied first. Hope that clears up any confusion. -

Thought you might like to see a video of the 071/111 sound decoder we're working on. The decoder we have released already is tailored to the Athern chassis for MIR kits so its great to be able to work on adjusting the settings to have it work perfectly with Murphys forthcoming released. Weve a number of adjustments to make but heres a clip of how things are progressing. Thanks to one of our regulars for allowing us to film on his Maryville Junction layout, makes a more interesting backdrop than our test bench! As always with video clips is difficult to give the full effect of the decoder, feel free to call in to the shop for a demonstration

Creating countryside scenics

Had quite a few questions about the photography and lighting, all the over head step by step pics were taken using an Iphone. The close up shots are taken using a Canon 450 DSLR set on macro and manual focus. The light is all provided by the sun -

Detailing a signal cabin - how to
modelshopbelfast.com replied to modelshopbelfast.com's topic in Tips & Tricks
Step 6: To finish off the cabin a single bulb was added to the interior roof to show off the detail once it's placed on the layout. Nice job to do and brings the cabin to life
