  1. John-r I use the Gaugemaster prodigy advance2 and the sound chips are from Mr Sound Guy with the exception of the hunslett, it being a bachmann 20 TDR

What a great layout, really enjoyed the video thanks for posting.

Dcc really adds a different dimension , can I ask what dcc system

and sound chips you went for.

    Cheers. John.

  2. Hi All,

This is just a short piece of film showing five locos, 071, 141, 201, 111 and a hunslett in construction stage running to test out the sounds, to date I’ve converted around 20 plus locos to DCC thus far, and enjoying every minute. Difficult to hold a phone whilst filming and a throttle on the other controlling My only regret is, Should had converted the layout earlier. Enjoy TDR

A Friday lunchtime depot scene on Tara junction sees 071 in for fuel, oil and water, beside it 0117071 and 0117076 await their turn for servicing, behind them various 071 and 201 undergo exams on the heavy maintenance roads.

Busy weekend ahead at the depot Noel;)

  4. Looking forward to seeing one-and-all this week end in Birmingham. As written by, My Provincial Friend, I shall be assisting at Bleach Green so come and have a chat and view this wonderful railway and its rolling stock.

I will be there both days, looking forward to it

  5. Totally agree Noel, I've watched these over and over to get the hang of things.=D My Gaugemaster system arrived yesterday along with six Lenz silver decoders. I have had a wonderful day setting up a prog track and a separate two meter track lenght to represent the layout. Result, 6 locos have now been converted and I've played about with them to familiarise myself with some of its capabilities. looking forward to connecting it to the layout.:trains: TDR

  6. Hi All

I’ve taken the plunge into DCC and will be converting the control of the layout shortly along with some locos. Any advice/tips on decoder selection (sound/non sound) wiring, running etc., is welcome. My head is buzzing from reading manuals in choosing which system.:jazz:

My choice of system is Gaugemaster prodigy Advance2, based on cost, future upgrading although I only run three locos at any one time and this model may be sufficient to cope with power wise.:praying:

    Will post updates on progress

    TDR
