Might I suggest that you put the Pro Go on a flat wagon in front of your loco and push it along?
Should give a much better view of the layout
Looks great through the cab windows!

A couple of views from the Kilkenny Show. Huge crowds passed through and the model railways got a good reception.

Hi Enda, nice to meet you at this show. We were mainly on model railway "missionary" work there among the farm/military modellers!

They really do look the part especially with Ballybeg as a superb backdrop.
Actually that's Eamonn's own diorama and very good it looks too.

Congrats Gerry on winning the award. The detailing and subtle blending of the scenery on 'Cynwyd' was such a high standard, and photo realistic yet 'alive' in multiple micro scenes of human and animal life beside a working railway. Cynwyd is an inspiration to the rest of us and shows what is possible. It was an honour to see it in your home earlier this year. Well done.
Thanks very much Noel. I really enjoy sharing my work and happy to offer any help to others who want to have a go. Gerry

Had to wait for natural daylight to photograph the black chassis on the cement bubbles. There is so much superb detail hidden by the black I'm going to lightly weather the chassis a slightly brighter colour so the details becomes more visible in relief.
The detail is just on another stratosphere

The detail is amazing alright. Good to talk yesterday Noel, sorry I had to juggle between all the people who wanted to chat. I will be back at the SDMR show tomorrow. See you soon.

Regarding the DART, there is usually some repair work carried out on Bank Holiday weekends so I would not be expecting it to run that weekend

Guys, probably better to upload photies to the website as photobucket has wrecked many a past posting!

Hi, none of these jpgs are showing? Ooops they just appeared...

Superb David. What sublime realism.
A great depiction of the Slow Late Never Comes (the little railway with the big name)! Just gorgeous in 7mm!

I have had to compromise some space in the new shed. Lawnmower, tools, bicycle and workshop table. Do I need another shed? (Joke)
Looking at the space available to comfortably have everything combined under one roof, it looks like either a 00 L-shape giving me about 2.5metres and 1.6metres lengths of running track combined to make a 4.1metre end-to-end 00 layout. Otherwise its an N-gauge continuous double rail loop giving me endless hours of fun that can be built in sections and possibly brought to exhibitions?
Tony, not too many N-gauge Irish layouts on the exhibition circuit! Why not have a go and make this your niche? I will have my Cynwyd in N at the SDMRC Show and perhaps we could chat some more then.

I'm at a point where my new shed is nearing completion. External landscaping and internal second fixing almost complete. Before I start thinking any more about layout scheme I wanted to check out the viability of N gauge in Irish. I was highly impressed with Gerry Byrne's 'Llangollen' at Enniskillen but does it work with Irish layouts?
I'm not debating the track dimensions, purely space available.
Westy does a range of 2mm transfers for Irish outline. UK outline 4-wheel goods should be easy enough to convert. ElectraRailwayGraphics do adhesive vinyl sides to convert UK outline Mk 1,2 3 and 4 coaches to Irish outline: http://www.electrarailwaygraphics.co.uk/ (see International section). Their website mentions a link to Shapeways.com to obtain the Class 201 body which fits a Graham Farish Class 66 chassis. https://www.shapeways.com/search?q=irish&type= list 121, 141, cement bubbles/bogies etc. Alphagraphix do a range of coloured card kits which could be reduced by 50% by photocopying and built up on plasticard etc Some UK outline buildings may suit with small changes....

Video clip of CIE C class hauling converted AEC 2600 suburban push-pull set with Craven coaches. Loco is a Silverfox models kit running on a modified Bachmann centre drive chassis (141 donor), DVT is an AEC 2600 RTR by Silverfox models, and the coaches are MM RTR Cravens.
Like the jazz and the train of course!

As part of the Wexford Festival Opera Fringe, Wexford Model Railway Club are hosting an Open Day at their club-rooms at St Joseph's Community Centre, Newline Road, Wexford on Monday 31st October from Noon to 5pm. The event is free but donations will be accepted! Model railway items and light refreshments (including yummy home-made cakes) will be on sale in aid of the club building fund.
Layouts on display will be Bushville (HO USA outline), Rathmichael (OO Irish), Llangollen (N gauge UK), Thomas (OO) and Sandown Valley (O/16.5 UK). Additionally, we will have trains running on the extensive test tracks in N, OO and O gauge.
We get a great turnout from our loyal Wexford public to this event. Any IRM.comers who have not maxed out at the South Dublin Show might like to make the (less than) 2 hour car journey down and all would be most welcome.

Hi Leslie,
Dun Laoghaire station is modeled from the 1980's it was built as a request from CIE to launch the first DARTs on the line through Dun Laoghaire - 1984. It has been fully refurbished and will be running some of Eoin Murray's fine new DARTS at the show along with the original kit based models that were built at the time of its first outings.
There might even be an Ammonia train or two making its way to Shelton Abbey!
Thanks
Paul R.
Sounds excellent!

Just back from Enniskillen, congrats to everyone involved. I was blown away by Llangollen - it was a truly amazing Layout. It gave me fresh ideas on what N is capable of. I voted accordingly. Thanks Gerry for your advice. I also met Wrenneire which was nice. So sorry that i missed a couple of others whom i was told were there - Kirley and Andy Cundick.
Thanks guys for your nice comments on Llangollen and great to put some faces to the names. I enjoyed the show - well organised and friendly -thanks to all the folks there for their sterling efforts. I took a few shots from around the halls as time allowed. A good variety of gauges and subjects with a number of vintage layouts also. Will be returning next year with another layout...

Noel, It would be great to set this up at an exhibition with a monitor for the public to view the unfolding scene from the cab - consider that an invitation to the Wexford Easter Exhibition 2018!
