  2. Ballybeg is undergoing some scenery refreshment in preparation for showing at the Wexford MRC's Autumn Exhibition on 9th October 2022. Trees have had fresh "leaves" added, static grass has been added to improve realism and some minor repairs have been made:

Thanks for supporting Lorna at the Exhibition and thanks, Wexford MRC, for providing PW with a stand!

I'm not sure what Fainne, Anthony's little girl, is looking at here (Mum's holding the camera)! Today was the second anniversary of Anthony's untimely death.

Apologies to the gent who wanted a second GSWR brake van - I recently repatriated three, as I was out of stock here in England! God-willing we'll be at Raheny and you can buy one there!

    Leslie (Provincial Wagons)

Thanks for coming to our show! It was a great success.

Had a great time at the show yesterday. Enjoyed a few cups of tea, sandwiches and cakes in The Station Cafe also. @enniscorthyman - I didn't realise that was the "Bushville" US HO layout as I was too busy admiring all the models on it. As ever, the O gauge layout was my favourite, would love to see an A Class in that scale.

Some of the MRSI O gauge group have scratch-built Irish locomotives...

Great stuff, something to look forward to. It'll have been over two years since I last attended a model railway exhibition. Good on the Wexford Model Railway Club for organising an exhibition so soon after the last.

Wexford MRC are the only club in Ireland hosting two exhibitions every year. 🙂

Thanks John - dead right on every count, although Dromahair and Glenfarne had unorthodox crossing arrangements too…. You can manage the basic WTT with 3 power units, if you assume that the 1115 goods didn’t run. So a daily freight from Sligo to Enniskillen and return, with 2 passenger sets either steam or railbus/railcar. I do have a small tank kit to hand, and a few railcar drawings…..

Indeed, this will lend itself to modular operation nicely. Could easily have a few open scenery ones, and a halt like Abohill or Kilmakerrill……

Great project. BTW Alphagraphix do very nice card kits in 4mm and 7mm of the station at Florencecourt and of the SLNCR signal cabins. Attached photos are of the 7mm kits built by John Walker Wexford MRC (I have the 4mm versions on my "Ballybeg" 4mm layout).

What's wrong with having a show at Easter? Better than waiting until the end of October next year. 17th April 2022 is 24 weeks and 5 days away - hope I'll alive to see it.

Wexford MRC is the only club in Ireland to run two events each year since 2009 to promote the model railway hobby (apart from 2020) and were first out of the blocks in 2021.

It won't be me, woke up just before 11hrs00. I'm shell shocked, have been so looking forward to the show since it was announced. Just staring out of the window in my apartment wondering what I'm going to do for the rest of the day. I'm livid - it'll possibly another 53 weeks before there's an opportunity for me to attend another exhibition. (Angry emoji)*

*Don't know where to find the emoji icons on my tablet

Never mind - Wexford MRC are pencilling in plans to host an exhibition again at Easter 2022 17th April all being ok covid-wise. So, not too long to wait perhaps.

  10. We had all hoped that the remaining covid restrictions would be lifted by 22nd October 2021 but it turns out to be just a partial reprieve. The good news is that there are no longer restrictions on numbers for indoor events but the bad news is that valid Covid Certificates and photo ID will be necessary to access the upcoming Open Day in Wexford.

@Irishrailwayman - Other than voluntary donations on the day will there be a raffle aswel?

connollystn: No raffle this time due to covid (to avoid handling money/tickets etc).

I'm certainly looking forward to the Wexford Model Railway Club Festival. Can't believe it'll have been two years since I was last at a model railway exhibition. Will there be tea/coffee and light snacks available at the venue?

Still working on catering arrangements post-covid but plan to have tea/coffee/treats available. On site there is the "Pot Belly Café" selling coffee, salads and cooked meat dishes etc.

Hopefully, Wexford will offer you an opportunity to buy Provincial Wagons kits over the counter for the first time in two years - WITHOUT the obligatory weeks waiting while An Post decide how much to charge you.

    More later!

Wexford MRC look forward to welcoming Provincial Wagons back to our Open Day and remember our late friend Anthony McDonald at this time.
