  1. Hi Guys, thanks for all your positive comments. Glad ye like the video. Always loved the Goldeneye loco, which in reality was modified Class 20, with 2 heavily modified BR MK2 coaches. In relation to Irish models, VALVE DESIGN at shapeways has already done a terrific job on the 201, C, A and 121 in N scale and the E class in 00. As discussed, the technology isn't there yet. An A or C class produced this way wouldn't satisfy the demands of most modellers. We can only hope Mr. Murphy will bless us with an RTR version at some stage. Thanks!!
  2. General Motors made this in the fifties. I was a complete flop for various reasons. Always thought they looked cool. I have a the original varney model from the fifties. Con-cor have done a fabulous version recently aswell. Here's a video of the model.
  3. Here's a video - which I think was posted on this forum before....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyn_LEr3b08
  4. Here, here. I have worked in commercial print for more than 10 years now. 3d print, and 3d print shops are the future. I did the train from goldeneye a while back and was impressed by the detail you could achieve. The technology will only get better.
  5. Thanks for that, wasn't aware that this group had existed. Fantastic pictures. Gives me ideas to do a maroon E class with blood and custard coaches like the pics:)
  6. Hi, thanks for that. Have never seem that before, reminds me of the NR red livery. Looks like tuam?? Can you please enlighten me, what was west rail?? Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the accurate info. I have done one from shapeways in black before. Might try one of these liveries though - just for fun!
  8. Stumbled across these. Does anybody know if know if the E class actually ran in these liveries. I really like the black with the white snail. I think I remember seeing a silver E class at the fry model railway
  9. This website puts the issue date of the Irish loco at 1990. http://www.garyscars.co.uk/mb/rwy/page2.htm
  10. Any sign of the old cereal box anyone? from what I've seen on this forum wrenneire is a great man for boxes?
  11. Hi Wrenneire, don't take any offence, but they look like repaints with silver fox transfers. That would explain the size of the snail.
  12. I had the yellow diesel also. Looked at a lot like the triang dock shunter.
  13. I remember when I was a child Kelloggs doing a promotion on the back of cereal boxes. Collect and send away for this toy loco - there was also a carriage. Anyway I recently found 2 of these from my childhood I had forgotten about. Does anybody else remember? there was an illustration/painting of an Irish loco at a station on the back of the cereal box I think. Would love to see that old box for nostalgia sake . . . .
  14. For those brave enough to be modelling Irish in N gauge. Arnold appear to do one also.
  15. If the 201's are to be given a new livery for this, could expect a special MM edition or is a DIY respray for likely??
  16. Roco V65 much cheaper http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROCO-HO-GAUGE-63940-DB-CLASS-V65-008-DIESEL-LOCOMOTIVE-WEATHERED-/201227905100?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2eda1e284c
  17. Hi, If your interested in that back scene, send me a pm and we can sort something out. Cheers.
  18. Thanks guys, picking them up on Friday, so will post up some pics of the finished articles. Locations: 1. Lough Inagh, Connemara 2. Dingle Peninsula 3. Long Walk, Galway 4. Connemara
  19. Hi All, Getting around to making back scenes for the layout. These are planned on an 8x4 sheet of 3mm rigid foam board. The advantage here is that there is no mounting a print to a backing board. The back scene can be installed easily and will be hard wearing. €100 covers the cost of getting this professionally manufactured from a local printer, they will come trimmed and all. I have 4 back scenes on this sheet, 2 at 23cm X 7ft and 2 at 23cm x 6ft. They will work out a €25 each which is good value in my opinion.
