  1. Ordered 12 packs to support the lads. I wish I could of ordered some cement packs with them so I didn't have to pay the shipping twice

  2. ebay is actually a good source for oddball photos, lots of 121 and A class photos, maybe worth of a separate trend ( if allowed) Here's another cracker

That was in the Mallow Beet Factory sidings in 1989 and most of the sleepers and soleplates went into the Fenit line. However, quite a large quantity of materials 'found' their way to Blennerville.

Great photo, thanks for sharing. On the day I was there, that crane nearly tipped over, more than once lol

A platform, a signal and a footbridge. The rails in the station area were lifted years ago, now the rest is being lifted. The branch is to become yet another greenway although the virus has possibly stalled that.

There was talk to make it dual gauge and run 5T there in GSRPS days. 5T went to the Blennerville and everyone knows the rest of that story.

GSRPS lifted a load of track panels from somewhere with a steam crane in the late 80s, was that for the Blennerville line?

None have a engine between them but Downpatrick including the (Traction group) work with RPSI is the best solution.

Mallow had several G classes, a Ruston or two, 131 (?), a steam crane, a railcar, a scammell thing (?) and a Hino  Just nowhere to run anything

  6. Would anybody have a brief history of Westrail?

Where and when did it operate, what equipment did they have any what happened to all the stock they had

I think that they might not have sounded too dissimilar to the British Rail Class 26, as they have the same Sulzer engine though it is rated at some 200hp greater.

I think the exhaust set up is different on the brits?

    Carrick-on-Suir, ITG.

611 & 617 are now at Downpatrick, though, but they’re owned by the ITG.

The third G on the DCDR is 613, a long-time Loughrea regular. She’s been out of traffic for some years and is privately owned by a DCDR member.

So, four out of the seven “G61X”s have survived! The only case, presumably, of the majority of an Irish loco class surviving! (I don’t count “one-offs” here).

Or maybe someone can correct this?

    G615 survives, kindof

Indeed it is, though as you can see, covered in weeds and sundry gunk....

jhb171achill, in a perfect world, back in the day, could the Youghal and Dungarvan lines be linked?

if not, is that why the Dungarvan line went to Mallow?

The Golden Era of Ireland's railways. The line feathered on this is now a greenway. :) Excellent though it is would prefer to seem summer rail traffic running out to Dungarvan, even a hideous tram would be better than a greenway (ie 22k). Speeds looked rather high in sections of the video, even going over some of the viaducts.

Is that a Sulzer or A class hauling a dead C class or are the two locos powered towards the end of the video?
