  1. Sad news indeed but, for me, the demise of Fleischmann began back in 2008 when it became part of Modelleisenbahn GmbH. Most of the models I've bought, and continue to do so, are pre-2008. There's so much competition in the market for German model trains that someone was always going to lose out. I'm sorry that it had to be Fleischmann. Luckily for me, I've managed to build a collection big enough to keep me going. There will always be the few models that got away but, that's how it goes in this business.

  4. Hi guys,

I'll be moving to a new abode in October and due to the lack of space I have to sell some of my Murphy Models 141/181 class locomotives. There are 8 locos in total, 4 IR & 4 IÉ liveried models (different running numbers). The locos are in excellent condition. €80 each.

    Regards,

    Gerard

PS. I'll be away until 22nd September so will not be able to reply to any e-mails until my return.

  5. I was at the MRSI model show in Dún Laoighre and the 071s look fantastic. It was certainly worth going to see them alone. They look far better in the flesh (plastic) than they do in photos. I can't wait to get my hands on some.

  6. Yep! The 121s are lovely locomotives but the 071s are my favourite. I'm not a fan of the 201s so I didn't get any so I've been patiently waiting for the 071s to come along. Can't wait to get my hands on them. Also, I've noticed that there's a yellow band around the top of the Silver and Black liveried 071s, is that just a stripe or a strip of metal which has some function?

  7. I'm really a big fan of the current Silver and Black livery. It's most likely that they will sell the quickest, however, there will be a big demand for the the Supertrain livery version if it is numbered 071. I bought 6 of the weathered 141/181s in the IR/IÉ liveries but, I wouldn't advise Paddy to release any weathered versions of the 071s, especially, after seeing the fantastic job some of you guys can do.
