Query relating to a model train I found in thrift store

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a model train in a thrift store. Such an amazing find I can’t believe it !!! I was wondering would you be able to tell me anything about it at all. I’m really fascinated by the model and am thinking of starting a collection perhaps. Have to start somewhere thanks so much in advance.
