Hi, I've just joined the forum and was wondering if anyone had any reference images of Bord na Móna LM44, currently preserved at the Stradbally Woodland Railway in Laois and named "Róisín". I'm trying to model her in G scale using an LGB starter set Stainz, and although I've been lucky to gain the help of one of the lads at the railway, who has already done this, it would be great to have some reference other than the dark and blurry photos i took last time i was at the railway. Thanks.

Welcome LNERW1!

I don't have any reference photos but I suspect the manufacturer's drawings must be available somewhere, perhaps in one of the UK archives? She's relatively young, being built in 1949 by Andrew Barclay, works number 2264

Also, Hon Laois!

Thanks Flying Snail, the same fella who also converted his stainz has sent me general arrangement drawings, so I'm modifying my request to detailed photos of things like the safety valves, running gear, etc. also, on your point of róisín being built in 1949, you are correct, but she (and her two sisters) were apparently initially designed as oil burners in the 20s. Thanks for the advice.

Great!

The little lines under Co and Ltd would be nice, if they could do them.

Fair point, but i can just paint them on with a fine brush.
