leslie10646 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 At last, it's here! Not remotely like the real one, but it's the right colour, right letters ..... And at just £33.95? Using the excuse "It's my railway and I'll run what I like on it" - apologies to @Old Blarney, whose favourite dictum this is https://railsofsheffield.com/products/rapido-trains-uk-829006-gnr-evolution-horsebox-no-1149 4
Mol_PMB Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Also worth noting is that Rapido are offering several variants of open carriage truck, with slightly different bodywork. These existed in Ireland too, and some lasted into CIE days, here's a little bit of one, which I think is a former MGWR vehicle: The book 'Irish Broad Gauge Carriages' has much better photos of MGWR, DSER, CBSCR carriage trucks of this general type, plus a 6-wheel WLWR type. They were latterly painted in CIE green livery like horseboxes. Also in the book are photos of GNR and NCC carriage trucks. leslie10646 Posted May 31 Author Posted May 31 (edited) Yes, Paul, I was going to bring up the carriage trucks in a later post. The one with a "fence" is quite like a GNR flat for bread containers - I had wondered if it could act as an alternative flat for my bread containers - if they fitted between the fences. I'll have to wait until they come out and try one ...... Edited May 31 by leslie10646 1
