K801 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I picked up two damaged Mk3s at a goodwill shop in Limerick for €5, has anyone ever attempted to take a Mk3 roof off? Videos on YouTube not great thanks
RobertRoche Posted 24 minutes ago Posted 24 minutes ago If they are the ones where the glazing and roof is all one piece, try inserting cocktail sticks at the bottom of the windows to force the glazing away from the sides. Start at one end and work along the carriage, the roof will start to lift up when you have done a few windows.
irishmail Posted 13 minutes ago Posted 13 minutes ago I have found that firstly you need to unclip the end corridor connections, ( the whole end piece is one moulding) then as Robert said, on Lima MK3's the roof is part of the glazing and is very brittle so you need to be careful when trying to remove it. Use cocktail stick or thin off cuts of placticard then eventually the roof and glazing should come free. Its easier to do than try and explain in words.
