Tony fly fishing Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Morning all maybe you can give me additional information, I was thinking about buying this locomotive, For pulling 6 flat beds with 6 die cast sherman tanks, seemly it's 10 years old needs a bit of oiling, would I be right or wrong
Flying Snail Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Possibly. Thats a Lord Nelson class I think, which would have been intended for passenger traffic, and its in its pre-war livery. During the war, big powerful locos like the Lord Nelsons may well have been put to work hauling tanks but I can't be certain (we might have a few WW2 aficionados on here who can confirm). I'd say by the time the Shermans appeared the Lord Nelsons would also have been in a plainer war-time black livery - do you intend to run it as is or would you be up for a re-paint? 1
Darius43 Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Hi Tony. Is the Lord Nelson loco a Bachmann or Hornby Model? The Hornby one is newer and will probably have more pulling power as well as being DCC ready. Cheers Darius
dropshort105 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Might need a little TLC, but they are family straightforward, there isn't really a whole lot to go wrong with them.
