Is this an unusual Picture?

1) The two Railcars are displaying different Class numbers.

2) The leading Railcar shown 3rd Class, although, its appearance indicates it has been recently repainted.

3) The trailing Railcar shows 2nd Class. It appearance indicating it has been in service for some time.

4) Photograph - David Murray Collection - Date 1956. Location Clondalkin.

They re-designated 3rd as 2nd in 1956. At the time they replaced the "3"s on doors with "2"s - but it didn't all happen at once! You'd see the odd old six-wheeler still with a 3 - or with NO number - for a couple of years after that if it hadn't been near a paintbrush or an overhaul.
