heirflick Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 on the 17th of May 2014, the Naval service commisioned their latest addition to the fleet. Named 'LE Samuel Becket' she was delivered in April this year and will join her sister ships 'LE Roisin' and 'Niamh' as OPV's or offshore patrol vessles. the main difference between them is that she is 10 meters longer than her sisters, can carry unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and is designed to cope with the rigors of the North Atlantic. We wish her well and May God bless her and her crew on their voyages. Quote
