American Buffer Stop

Saw this at a timber yard in Virginia. I guess you don't a buffer stop when you don't have buffers!

The stop for the old goods siding at Ballybrophy never got upgraded with the rest of the station - Then it was disconnected from the rest of the track a few years ago..

 

 

I wonder how old that piece of wood is?

how about this one? a make shift stop for a make shift siding at the depot in portlaoise.

That looks easy enough to model for prototypical authenticity.
