Peter
Does anyone know this station, no longer in use. The platform is down the side of the station house with a bridge just beyond it.
Eiretrains
Loo Bridge, on the old Headford Junction to Kenmare branch. http://eiretrains.com/Photo_Gallery/Railway%20Stations%20L/Loo%20Bridge/IrishRailwayStations.html
Weshty
Yup. That signal was my inspiration for doing all the GSWR and Cie range.
Irishrailwayman
I stayed there in 1976 when the station was an An óige Youth Hostel. As schoolboys we cycled from Dublin to Kerry and back over two weeks using hostels each night. Many of the hostels have long been closed including Loo Bridge. Peter
Yet again your knowledge amazes me. I drove past it going to Kenmare this weekend. What a beautiful setting for a train station. The house is for sale at the moment.
Weshty
Still for sale??? That's been on the market at least 4-5 years at this stage so.
Peter
It's on Sherry Fitz website. Unless the ad is old and hasn't been taken down.
jhb171achill
Lovely setting. The signal, it should be noted, isn't original.
