Guest hidden-agenda Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Mike Collins chairman of the DCDR has sadly passed away. Mike was a true gentleman and could not do enough for visitors enthusiasts and modellers who ventured in to the Downpatrick railway. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him or had contact with him as nothing was too much trouble. His loss will be felt by many. Edited October 4, 2012 by hidden-agenda Quote
Garfield Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) I didn't know him personally, but we had a few mutual friends and acquaintances and they all speak very highly of him. He was also the driving force behind much of the developments at the DCDR, and by all accounts he'll be a hard act to follow there. May he rest in peace. Edited October 4, 2012 by Garfield Quote
jhb171achill Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Yes. We buried Mike on Saturday last; a true gentleman as mentioned and a good friend to all involved in the DCDR. RIP, Mike; we'll keep 'er lit for you! Quote
