0 Garfield
Are you using a PC or a Mac? If you're using a PC, then you probably have Microsoft Movie Maker installed, which is pretty good for a free piece of software and very straightforward to use. There are plenty of add-ons and upgrades available for it, too. iMovie is the Mac equivalent, and if you have a new(ish) Mac then it should come pre-installed. If not, I think you may have to purchase it from them. Avid used to offer a program called FreeDV, but it's no longer available. You may still be able to download it from a Torrent site, though. I've never used it, but I do use Avid Xpress Pro and Media Composer and the interface looks very similar. If it's only a fraction as powerful as those programs, then it should be good! Edit: Forgot to ask... what camera/model are you using? Edited October 22, 2012 by Garfield Additional question
0 Kirley
Thanks Garfield for your reply. I have a PC and the camera is a Lumix FS10. I've tried using Moviemaker but it does not seem to like Quicktime video. I'll converting it and see if I can get it to work. Failing that I'll have a look at Avid Xpress

Failing that I'll have a look at Avid Xpress Try downloading a program called Handbrake (www.handbrake.fr), which you can use to convert the Quicktime file into a format such as mp4, then try that file in Movie Maker. In Handbrake, select the file you want to convert, then in the right-hand column under 'Devices', select 'Universal', then click 'start'. 0 Kirley
I downloaded Windows Live Movie Maker and that seems to work for me. Hopefully the results will be up on the site later today. Thanks again for your help.
