Happy Christmas all, to you and your loved ones. Let's hope 2024 brings lot to celebrate for all. No trains here, but might get time to do some modelling, with a week off work.

Well lads, Here is one I have been thinking about for a while, and all the talk about IRM announcements made me think I needed it done. At least if they announce it in the future, as we wish, mine is almost done. A Bachmann LMS Royal Scot conversion to GS Class 800. Double chimney added, repaint and transfers. Still needs lining, smokebox door to be sorted, and crew, but she is getting there. Might even get lamps on the front.

Just an FYI to all, some may be aware, others might not. Pete Waterman's new show starts on Thursday 19 October at 21:00 on More 4.

Dublin Show 2023 - 28-30th Oct 2023 With An Action Packed IRM Stand
Railway Lyons replied to Warbonnet's topic in What's On?
Don't see anything yet for bank holiday weekend. Only for 7th-8th for now. -
Sure was a step up. Had to take smart watch off, kept alarming for heart rate. We need SA out of the tournament, and would figure FRA might do that, over NZ. Think NZ in quarter, FRA in Semi, and see what comes of it. We do need to tighten up a few areas too though.

I couldn't possibly say, where would be the surprise, and it might sway the IRM guys...... Let's just say, there is some steam, some diesel, some wagons, and maybe an innovative idea or two! You will just have to keeps eyes on the workbench thread. -
Dublin Show 2023 - 28-30th Oct 2023 With An Action Packed IRM Stand

It has to be something I have on my projects bench. Lads have done it on last 3 or 4 announcements, so wouldn't be surprised if they do it again. Eagerly waiting to see what it is either way. -
After getting soaked through coaching U10's girls rugby this morning, I figured staying home and dry, with World Cup on, was a good opportunity to get some more work done on projects. 072 & 079 back for additional cab numbers And finally seeing light of day, one of my kits that has been in the box for years, a MIR bogie fertiliser.

Fluff is from mate's Christmas scene I believe. Arrived that way, and going back that way. On the ballast, I'm going to go more with the "finished working", and going for refill, so there won't be much inside it to be fair.
-
Another little bit done today. Renumber 2x 071 for mate, 071/078 to 072/079. And an overdue one for myself, 216. Celtic knot to be added, when i find it again.

6x NIR Ballast Wagons completed, minus ballast loads, but that will come when I buy some for layout in few months. Transfers have arrived, along with paint and some other building materials, so I can get some more progress done on the other projects.

Another weekend, again more rain, means one thing.......more modelling F1 and rugby on in the background. Bit of motive power this time. My Jeep ready for transfers and details pack to be put on. And another in the works, No.171 "Slieve Gullion". Still a bit to go on this one, but getting there. Rolling stock from last week will be completed when couplings and transfers arrive.
-
I think they make very good representations of them. Believe several were brought over from BR, just not sure if the very same wagon, or modified, once in use on NIR network.
-
There is something to be said for a bit of bad weather. Rain way to much to be wandering. Gave me a few hours over last 3 days to get more works done. NIR Ballast beginning transfers and weathering, then seal and reassemble. Pallet Cement transfers done and sealed. Coupling to be fitted. IR fuel wagon kits coming along nicely. More transfers and then weathering, and to be sealed. Couple of locos and coaches looking on longingly from the shelf waiting their turn.

And aptly named Session IPA. Have had a few sessions on these. Nice IPA, especially in this warm weather by the BBQ, while planning out the garden railway

2018 was the last post A lot has happened since then. Another house move a year ago now, to County Wexford, from Dublin. Hopefully now I can get back on more regularly(with assistant Wall-E). Today got a few hours to get a bit done. Pallet Cement (chassis from older kits), and NIR Ballast repaint from Hornby EWS SeaCow. Going for fairly used weathering on both accounts. Transfer, Weathering and minor touch ups left to complete the rakes.

Cancelled. Can't find why online. Thought I was going mad for a minute with the weirdest intro to model railway world....

Starting my 3 year old off with this, so my influence is rubbing off on him. Just not getting his paws on the real deal yet. Happy Christmas all!

Garden about 25ftx40ft, so plenty of room to get gentle sweeps in. Will make them as big as I can, but think 6ft as an estimate is good. Cheers gents. Will document when begins, and each step of the way.

Hi All, Going to be doing up the garden with raised flowerbeds, and a sizable shed, so while in planning mode, figured might be a good idea to get the radius required for O Gauge curves, and order materials accordingly. I aim to run a single line for now (double only with permission, working on that with management). Want to run everything from 08 shunter to LNER A4, wagons to coaches. Looked online and found few different opinions on what can get away with, but looking for advice from those with experience. Cheers all.

Loving it Warb, Following with great interest, and giving plenty of ideas for my own future layout.

Recent addition finally to Ballyglunin....that station house arrived. Train now has a reason to stop.
