Looking good Tommy, don't loose faith. If you tease the hanging basket liner apart in places it will look like wild bushes, then spray some cheap hairspray over it and sprinkle over some woodland scenics fine blended turf. Looks really well.

Well explained Richie, I agree with Tony a tank is essential. I have a portable compressor in the workshop that I use for the nail guns I hook that up to a second filter regulator and then the airbrush. The tank lasts for ages before the compressor kicks in.

Like Broithe said, its a mini spray gun and won't be very accurate. Also no regulator or moisture trap. If one was serious about getting an airbrush stay away as you will spend more money in the long run buying this and then replacing it later with better kit.

I got a great book by George Dent Airbrushing for railway modeller's. I took my time buying my airbrush and I'm glad that I did.

No not yet, I am making a pond on the layout that I am currently building but will be using the last of the Woodlands Scenics. I have ordered some so I'll give it a try and post a pic.

After using Woodland Scenics realistic water on a couple of layouts I find it is very expensive for what it is. So I found an alternative, Acrylic Glazing Liquid as it's the same as Woodland Scenics available here for half the price!

For a great budget controller try the NCE powercab, available for £135 for the starter which can be expanded to a full pro system as your layout grows, the Bachmann Dynamis is also a great starter system that can be upgraded. If you want to bite the bullet and invest in a high end DCC controller there is only one option, the ESU Ecos 50200 it can be bought for £500 or €500 in Germany. It is the best by far among the others I have used one and researched DCC controllers extensively looking for my next controller and this is the one I will be buying. If you by the NCE system you will spend over €600 bringing up to pro spec and the Dynamis will run you into the best part of €500 upgrading it.

Yes DCC is not the holy grail, but the advantages far outweigh DC, even for a single operator you can have you loco lights on while stationary coach lights on and sound locos with engines running in the background. DC is variable voltage and that's it's biggest disadvantage with DCC it's constant.

In my opinion DCC is the only way to go.

Not sure, it's all continental at the moment. The guy that is organising it is to contact me as I have offered my services to help with the move and the expansion.

They are currently in Trojan IT on Elphin St opposite Supervalue, they open till 4:00pm. There isn't much info online about them as I had to go to the tourist information to find out where they are.

Progress is slow, it seems most of the men shed guys have dropped out. They hope to take on staff when they move to the courthouse, where they are at present is a bit out of the way.

No it's all continental at the moment, the extension will have an airport but that's as far as planning has gone. It's down to funding, the main guy was not there today so I left my card and offered my help. They need help and guidance as it's just two guys doing this at the moment as they lost most of the volunteers. I would be great to see this finished and it's a great attraction at the minute, they get 40 to 60 visitors a day.
