  1. I visited the Boyle Model Railway today while on holidays. Spoke to one of the guys and they have got planning permission to move into the courthouse in Boyle this September. They plan to increase the size of the layout to 3 times bigger then it is now.

  2. I am willing to help in any way I can. It's such a shame that it has been left in storage for so long and the longer it stays that way the less will be done about it. We do need to take positive action to save it.

  3. I'm going to start building some bubble wagons next week and all I know is I have to have a prestwin and a kinder egg anyone have some tips on building these or what to use.

    All help welcome :)

You will need the old kinder egg Sean as the new ones are not the right shape.

  4. No such thing a a dopey question if you don't know the answer! An 071 will go around a Hornby radius 1 but it is very tight, a 201 won't. 605 is radius 1, 371mm radius. If you use flex track you could increase the radius a bit. Hope this helps.

  5. That looks brilliant Dave. Do you apply paint and scenery direct to the foam?

Yes, the paint seals it just use standard emulsion paint once dry apply PVA to glue the scenery. You can also sand the foam to shape.

  6. Hi Sean,

I use pink foam available from Woodies for €9.99 a sheet of 1200mm x 600mm x 60mm deep. Glue it together with PVA and shape it with a carving knife. You can paint it dark green then apply scenery.
