Dont know if I mentioned it before but I was the treasurer in our Works social club
Just before I retired I spotted this and snapped it up
When I was asked what I would like for my presentation I handed over the loco. wrapped in lovely wrapping paper and also an invoice for the amount I paid
I tried to look surprised at the "do" but it was impossible to keep the smile off my face!!!

In November 01 Murphy Models commissioned an "O" Gauge Maunsell K1 2-6-0 "Woolwich" from Bassett- Lowke , now under the onership of Corgi Models
Reference number is BL99005
The loco was turned out in C.I.E. Gren livery and a limited edition of 50 were ordered
When the 50 arrived one was found to be a Schools Class , but packaged in the MM box
Packaging with outer sleeve
Hard to see in this light but the plaque shows the individual issue number of the loco, in this case #28

He is looking to produce his own but would not say which manufacturer he would be using until he has the deal finalised

Baile Cois Farraige
Had a great time at the show
A lot of interest in the layout as we ran Irish only
Mixture of freight (bubbles & pallet cements + A Class) and passenger
Loads of interest from the public, although the numbers were not great for a 2 day free show.
All in all though a well run event by the Ulster Model Railway club with 15 or more good layouts to look at
I dont know what the retailers thought of it as I did not get to speak with Garreth before I left but there were 5 well stocked traders there
Leslie from Provincial Wagons had some lovely new vans and was also selling off some of his older stock at bargain prices
Love to hear some more feedback from members who attended.

OV is return or zero volt wire
12v is the live or 12 volt wire
There is no central position on the point, it is either in the straight or turn position
Once you change the switch from one position to another the point remains in that position, you do not have to keep pressure on it

Most unboxed wagons of the older variety struggle to make €3, never mind £3

Thats a story for a new thread
The shop was in Monk Place and the idea of the MRSI was created there after many long nights talking trains!
Both of the McGowan brothers are still alive to this day.

August 2001 also saw the introduction of the Bachmann CIE range of Green 57' Coaches
So to fully appreciate what Murphy Models were at, here we see him dealing with 2 different manufacturers at the same time
First coaches are 3rd/Brakes
34-226
Running numbers 1087 & 1095
300 of each coach produced
1st/3rd
34-251
Running number 2096
Again only 300 of this coach produced
3rd Class
Running numbers 1332 & 1336
300 of each produced
I have to say these are some of my favourite coaches, something about them just oozes class
What are you listening to now?.
