  1. Pat I think Ian Curtis may have created those moves on stage to help him cope with his epilepsy. As for Andy McCluskey I think it might be his mechanism for coping with nerves before a live audience. The boys in Tears for Fears were known to throw some odd shapes in their early years on stage. I saw Simple Minds in 1983 and Jim Kerr moved like a dog that couldn't decide which tree to p**s on. If I had to make a choice for who moves the most on stage at shows I have been to I would say that Flea and Keith Flint would be hard to beat.

Rory Gallagher, now that mans hands were all he needed to move. Watched him on Sky Arts last night, what a genius.

    Rich,

Have to say it was hard to beat Mick Jagger back in the day

Every dance you went to had a "Satisfaction" set where we all threw our STONES shapes

Embarrassed just to be talking about it

Rory Gallagher, thats another story. if check shirts could dance!

  2. Another LOL moment

Just read the title to this thread:

Legend, bovril jaws, I didnt know you had it in you

Thought you had to have a job before you could dish out the UB40's?

Of course when you read it it will be by me and so on..........................

  3. Different market

The 201's were bought at a time when they were the only rtr Irish Diesel loco available and the prospect of any further ones being produced was not known

Nobody is arguing about the quality of the 141/181's, they are bulletproof.

These locos are still available from some retailers but when the 201's were making big money they were out of production for up to 8 years

Best price I recorded was £510 stg for a River Boyne in Jan of O9, and River Boyne had the biggest production of the range with 500 made.

They were produced in O3 and were still in some shops in O6, its really hard to fathom why it went for such big money.

In Sept of O9 an NIR 208 made £87.25 stg, but if I remember correctly the seller had a UK only tag on his listing so it excluded probably his biggest market

Anyway best of luck to Michel, plenty of people still out there looking for some elusive numbers to fill their collections.

  4. Todays item is set # L149801-2

If I had been able to supply the amount of these sets I had been asked for I would be a wealthy man.

Again this set was produced in 1998 and only 300 sets made

Chris Dyer Fairs has reacted to popular demand and have just announced their first venture into the Irish Republic; the all new SOUTH DUBLIN TOY & TRAIN SALE will take place on Saturday 8th. December 2012. The venue is to be the 4* Stillorgan Park Hotel in Stillorgan Road; this is the main N11 route south from the City Centre and it is also easily reach by public transport.

Chris told us, “The Stillorgan Park Hotel has in the Shelbourne Suite, one of the large hotel function rooms in Dublin and we will easily be able to accommodate 80 tables. In addition, there is a massive car park at the hotel with 350 spaces plus easy and level access as well as all the facilities that would be expected in such a quality hotel”.

Table rents and admission charges are to be kept below local market rates and it is expected that traders from all over Ireland, north and south as well as other parts of the UK, will attend.

Chris added, “We aim to mount a quality show in South Dublin, to compliment existing events and to cater for the growing demand in the Country”.
