Think its time to start introducing some of the weathered variety to my collection! Do you have any #177 available ?
You talkin to me?
How many do you want:cool:
-
Is that your layout Stephen
Its a chap called Mike Walsh from Galway
I think the layout came from Derry, if anyone remembers a member of the original site
Used to do a bit of painting.
Loco was hand delivered by "Kerbside Models"
Piano was played by Stevie Wonder?
-
Agreed there Bosko
Would really look sweet with the RPSI coaches, something different to gape at,
-
The hobby also has collectors who buy their locos in mint condition and like to keep them that way
Weathering is a bit of a no no with them, (he says from experience)
-
Judging by the 141/181's the Super Train livery seemed to be the hardest to sell. If Paddy has his head screwed on right he will bring that livery out first so that it will sell.
071 in Supertrain is the Class leader Anto
Same as 201 Shannon
For the more mature modeller I think it will be a big seller
-
I dont think he should bother with the weathering
Of all the 141/181's that were available the weathered ones sold worst
Still have 4 of 177, 3 of 183 and a couple of 190

Decided to convert to DCC
Had a couple of issues with the old layout which I fixed first
Trapdoor entry was never succesfull where it was, so I moved it to the centre of the opening
I think the current Mrs Bracken must have left her hoover there when she was cleaning the attic for me!
General view of the layout
Looking back down
The trapdoor
The new one
Old Control Panel

My O Gauge "A" Class?
-
Picked this up some time ago
Anyone have any info on it?
It is branded as a Matchbox Railroad set
Comes as you see it, no Matchbox outer sleeve, just a plain brown box
-
The famous Marklin Crocadile
TT800
A German yoke
Another German yoke
And another
Some HOe locos
Some more
-
To the best of my knowledge they are the same kits
The difference in price has to do with paint and wheels I think
-
Yes I did see what was posted up in the middle of the night. Some people have little to do
Obviously you have nothing to do if you saw it posted in the middle of the night!!
-
Eamonn
I think that 071 as class leader should be togged out as 071 Supertrain
There is nothing to stop it being released again as 071 in any other livery it ran in
-
Philistine! He's a National Treasure. He recorded this one when he was seventy - see if you can keep up with him....
Broite
The fact that you were able to get this vid at short notice makes me think maybe you do dig this wombat
-
I thought he'd be a hero of yours, considering some of the stuff you've made money out of over the years!
Price of your 071's has just gone up, smarthole
Go back to school and learn something useful!!!
-
I love that man.
How anyone could make a living with a face like that and a sheet of galvanised iron, I will never know
Two little boys, Jesus wept:cool:

So here's the intended stock for the layout, at least to start off with...
So right now I have
Murphy Models 220 ie orange
Lima 207 Enterprise livery
3 mk2 Galway coaches
Some mk3s (hopefully picking them up this weekend!)
Here's the stuff I (eventually!) I hope to have
1 or 2 141s/181s
Murphy Models 208
Murphy Models 201
2 5 coach rakes of mk3s (1 1st class, 1 restaurant car, 2 2nd class, 1 gen van)
1 or 2 5 coach rakes of mk2s
I rake of DD coaches 1 or 2 2600/2800 dmus
If yous think anythings missing just say
Maybe some Executives, RPSI coaches for one of the Mk 2 rakes. Cravens

Draw the line if she calls you a 'nerd'....

Broite
I meant to ask you when you posted this on the last site
Is that Rolf Harris in the background?
And I dont mean the squeeky voice shouting "Nerd"!!

Just talking to some lads in the MRSI about what colours they would like to see on the new 071's
We assume there will be 10 different locos issued.
Supertrain, with 2 running numbers Class leader 071 to be one
IR with 2 numbers
IE with 2 numbers
Freight with 2 numbers
We all agreed on those ones
NIR, some said only one others wanted 2
There was also a Supertrain with a smaller broken wheel decal which was mentioned
What do you guys reckon would be the best
Answers on a postcard to........................

There is a kind of structure to the Lima Orange 201's
Bandon and Tolka can make up to €150, they came in sets and are generally harder to pick up
Shannon as 201 the class leader is also in demand and gets around €120
Flesk and Dodder tend to make €100
All prices would reflect mint examples with boxes and detailing parts where available.
Bandon with its 3 coaches in the Train Pack box can still make €500, and Tolka in its Started set box can still get €300

They are in Chris's stock I'm afraid
I do have them myself from time to time
This is a Supertraim liveried one.
-
Looking forward to seeing them
Some good passenger stock is really needed at the moment.
I expect they will be up to his usual high standards.
