Some light reading about the move

I even wash my hands before.

Indeed... Busaras also has more space, allowing more capacity and space for expansion. Apparently the layout will have to be shoehorned into its new home!
To the best of my knowledge and don’t quote me, there will again be a purpose built building to house the Fry
The original building on the site, "Casino" will be used as an administrative building with tea rooms etc
There is 1.5 bar to buy the house and build the premises, which has outline planning permission from a previous project for the same site
The site is adjacent to Malahide train Station
Dont know how long it will take to build but dont hold your breath lads.
-
I second that

You forgot to say please. No manners!
Read the post again dude!
I only translated what Bosko said, DOH
-
Looks like I'm the only one here who wasn't educated in the dark ages. Instead they just taught is Irish; an equally useless, outdated language.
Boskos post as Gaeilge:
An bfhuil cead agam dul go dti an leithreas,
Please excuse the spelling!

I like it Broithe, I like it a lot!

Jasus lads, weve a lot to thank the ould Christian Brothers for.
Abutebaris modo subjunctivo denuo ( You've been misusing the subjunctive again)
Oh, the fun we had!

Have to say I think they are pure class
Best non ready to run model out there
Gareths attention to detail is as bad as PMurphys
Each model has some very slight differences from each other
The paint job was not the worst in the world either
-
will ask around for you and take a look in the loft to see if i have any left over,
Maybe we can get him to start making a few kits the interist is there.
Would also be interested if you find any unmade ones
Trying to get some unmade boxed MIR kits for my collection
The plan is to have them all in unmade condition with all the appropriate parts
A bit sad I know but if no one does it their history will be lost forever

Theres a chap called Paul Roche in Texas
He bought the remainder of the JoueF stock whic included a lot of Mk 111 bits
Dont see him on the new site yet
Give him a shout

Hi,
What do you do when you get a new loco ? I know (for me anyway ) the temptation is to get it on the layout immediately but should it really be 'run in' slowly first in both directions ? If so, for how long ?
Declan.
Declan
As far as I remember MM 141/181's should be run in slowly for about an hour in each direction, and they really do benefit from this
Helps everything bed in and mesh properly

Looks very realistic Anto well done.
Garreth
Only Anto could weather a wagon that says 2013 on it, It should not be out of the paint shop yet, DOH!

How do run the track over the trap-door?
Couple of pics from the old layout
Trapdoor in closed position
Underneath shot
Basically just brought the power via the old telephone cable and wired it to the track on the trapdoor
The small piece of timber on the left hand lip is why the trapdoor looks out of line in the first shot.

On the hunt for a couple of Bachmann Class 20 chassis for a decent price Dave if you come across any cheap...
Fran
The chassis came with the kit
If any do turn up I will give you a shout
Give Hiddenagenda a shout, he bought a batch for the Sulzers, he might have a hawk for them?
-
How much are the pallet cement wagon kits, Dave?
Pat
Back in the day they were £27 stg
These are for myself, I did not see the MIR closure coming and indeed at the time they closed I had approached them for 10 of each of the kits they produced at the time, and when I got a final price from them there was not a washer to be saved on my large order, the mane bastards!
Anyway up, they do not appear that often in this condition so I reckon it might be Irish Freight Models if you want some, sorry.

Another little find this afternoon
Getting harder to find these little treasures
The Bogie Cement pack has 4 wagons.

He's grown to be a daddy and lately with his beautiful wife Paula presented us with a new gricer!

My lad loves the spreadsheet where I have my collection priced
The hungry bastard:mad:

Nice hoover. Is she a Dyson?
No, female and a housewife, also called Granny Bracken!

Another few days work and nothing to see
Fitted the bus wireing
As I never thought the layout would be rewired, I had fixed the presses and shelving permanently so every meter under the baseboards was a long drawn out struggle, indeed most of the screws had slot heads!
Found this building while looking through some stuff
Does it look Irish enough?
LIMA Murphy Models
in Photos of Models
Posted · Edited by WRENNEIRE
I propose to post pictures of all the models produced by Murphy Models in sequence from their days with LIMA to the current models produced by Murphy Models
Lima produced models of British outline stock
These were then offered to Lima agent in Dublin, Lexie Keady
He then accepted or refused the sets and the accepted ones went on general release here
Towards the end of the 90's Keady retired from the trade and Murphy Models began a relationship with LIMA that saw them produce some of the first authentic Irish railway models
This is their first attempt , set # L105100X33 released in 1997, possibly as few as 300 made.
It was released in the Lima Hobby Range line.
It was classed as a starter set,
It consists of a Cl33 repainted as an A Class # 015 This model had been produced by LIMA for Tynan and was accepted as an Irish loco at the time, the Tynan model was numbered 215.
Coaching stock consisted of a Mk 2D #5228 and a Mk 3 Restaurant # 7115
It also came with a traffo and track.
300 Sets believed to have been produced
