I'm on my second ssm brake van.i admire anyone with the Patience and skill to build a brass kit.stevie wonder wearing boxing gloves has more dexterity than I have. I guess this is why I asked if there's rtr stuff available as I'm sure I'm not the only whos enept at model building.

Just out curiosity what sorta money does it cost to have a kit built? I tried an ssm brake van and ended up binning it.

I think if like you say more people who do 7mm show their work and engage with others more will take an interest and take the plunge like myself iv only started this year I'm a complete newbie to the scale,if IRM sees a genuine interest and there's a new market to explore id love to buy rtr locomotives.iv no skill in kit building and iv no interest in steam I'm being selfish and id like to see a diesel come to market.

At the end of the day if irm produced a loco would there be enough interest to sell a thousand units?

If a rtr 141 121 or 071 was produced id be expecting no change from a thousand euro.iv seen brass steam locos in 7mm from hh models i think and they near 3000 sterling. I'm working saturday.ill see if the powers that be may let me loose early.

Yes its a huge model but you would never see them ever made again.an appreciating model in years to come.anything irish in 7mm rtr would be on everyone's work bench

I guess the 08 be a good start and it just needs paint n transfers .be more irish looking than a hymek thats for sure.

Looking at the worley works g class kits.if I bought one id need it built for me.iv tried working with brass and iv no aptitude for it at all. I'm presuming built kits never come up for sale.

Think ill just buy a heljan hymek and paint it orange and black like the hornby one i had. Don't even think I could 3 d print a body its way too technical. Cheers for the ideas.gives me something to think over.

Thanks for that.think ill try the cardboard kit of the 141.just looking for something diffrent to keep the body occupied.i know nothing of irish steam as no real interest in it. Am going to replicate my childhood trainset in 0 scale. Trains should be fun and sometimes whimsical.

Has anyone ever done an irish deisel in 7mm? Resin,brass or kit bashed . Or do the hornby hemek in super train and go up to 0 scale or a class 33 in the same colours like the murphy models one lima did. ?iv bought a big big hymek to repaint the same as the hornby r.768 just for a bit of Craic.

I picked up a 121 in black and tan from eBay few weeks back €165 including postage and vat.came in 10 days from china.

Iv seen this guys stuff on adverts. Some of the paint jobs look really bad.

Iv not bought the chips yet.was wondering is there any diffrence running sound together in both locos.probably will sound fit both and be done with it.
